  3. The Swingin' Tigers was really Bean Bowles and his band so the first white artist would be Debbie Dean with "Don't Let Him Shop Around " on Motown #1007.
  4. Nick and the Jaguars were before Debbie Dean but I'm not sure who was in the group. Does anyone know anything about the Swingin' Tigers ?

  6. If you look at one of the footnotes at the end of the article, it's says Jerry Ross used Nick Ashford, Valerie Simpson and Melba Moore as a backup group - that's probably who you're hearing .
  7. I didn't think you were looking for the C + C Music Factory but thought it was worth a try. Thanks for posting the clip- great song!

  11. I was listening to the radio awhile ago and heard an advertisement for Marshall Thompson's book "Last Man Standing" - this was the first I heard of it. Just wondered if anyone has had a chance to read it and what they thought of the book.
  12. The liner notes have the session taking place in October,1964 which sounds about right. Billy Davis is listed as the producer.
  13. There are no writer credits given on the CD, maybe Ady will enlighten us? I'm in the "I Like It Just The Way It Is" club.
  14. According to the liner notes on the "Who's Blue" CD, "Can't Shake It" was recorded at the same session as "Mellow Fellow" and "Bobby Is His Name".
  15. I can hear the "Sweatin" " mp3 but none of the other audio works for me.
  16. It did come out as a 7" single in the U.S. on Motown #1459. One side is the album version, the other side the new version.
  17. Is this already out in the U.K. ? Release date for the CD in the U.S. is October 21st.

  19. I'm in the U.S. and can't get on e-bay either .
  20. Just out of curiosity- why is the title mispelled on the "Grin And Bare It" 45?? At first I thought the studio information also had the spelling error- when I looked at the work sheet- the title is "Grin And Bear It" which is the correct spelling.
  21. "There He Is" was released first as the B side to "That's How Heartaches Are Made" (Sue #783) and then again on Sue # 137 with "No Time For Pity".
  22. If anyone wants a copy on vinyl, it is available on the "D.J. Snowboy Presents The Good Foot " album from Ace/ Kent.

  24. If you're referring to "It Takes Two" by Kim and Marvin, there was a U.S. release on Tamla # 54141.
  25. If you can find the Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell "The Complete Duets" CD set from 2001, there are a few unreleased/ alternate takes on the double CD .
