  1. From what I remember, the Gladys Knight had a paper label which is a lot harder to find than the ones with ink labels.
  2. I've always cringed at a line in Bettye Swann's "Make Me Yours". "I don't care what nobody says, I'll love you for always" with the says forced to rhyme with always.
  3. Are you sure Gloria and the Tiaras are the same group as Gloria and the T-airas? Doesn't sound like the same group at all to me .
  4. This U.K. copy has two release dates '74 and '77. I'm guessing the original came out in 1974 (in Germany?) and was later released in 1977 ??
  5. A demo in very good - condition sold for $920 in January of this year. Another demo in very good ++ condition sold for $610 in March of 2017.
  6. That was the first 12" single commercially available in the U.S. There were a lot of 12"'s before that that were promo only. "Ten Percent" was released in May of 1976.
  7. I'm about 99% sure Ranwood was started in 1968 by Randy Woods (from Dot Records) and Lawrence Welk. The Mirwood label was started by the other Randy Wood after he left Vee Jay.
  8. This is a much easier and cheaper way to own "It'll Never Be Over For Me" than the U.K. 45.
  9. I would almost swear the "It May Be Winter Outside" clip is from U.S. tv. Seem to remember seeing her on either "American Bandstand" or its spinoff "Where The Action Is" . Not sure if that video is from either show or a different one from the U.S.
  10. In December of 2016, a vg copy went for $466 USD, in January of 2017, a vg copy went for $299 USD.
  11. Sad to hear this- Jerry was involved with so many great songs ! As a producer- Sapphires- Gotta Have Your Love" and "Slow Fizz", Jay and the Techniques' "Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie", Fathers Angels- "Bok To Bach", Virgil Henry - "You Ain't Saying Nothing New" . As a writer- Dee Dee Warwick (among many others) "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" and "When Love Slips Away". R.I.P.
  12. Leroy is the lead on Convertion- "Let's Do It" and the Fantastic Aleems- "Hooked On Your Love". He also does some of the leads on the Peter Jacques Band "Fire Night Dance " album but his vocals are so sped up, it's hard to recognize him.
  13. Big fave of mine--
  14. Here's two more- neither are 100% Soul books but there's some interesting info in both- John Collis- "The Story of Chess Records" Herb Kent / Davis Smallwood - "The Cool Gent" - Herb was the legendary Chicago dj who broadcast from 1944 until he passed away last year.
  15. I've got just about everything they ever made- if I had to pick one, I guess I'd go with this ....
  16. Thanks for posting! Wish the video was longer though .
