  1. Print ad for the Classic 45.... Sorry this print is so big!
  2. One more for the playlist ....
  3. One more from the O'Jays ...
  4. I've seen "item is no longer available" but never had the listing disappear. The seller probably got an offer from a buyer he couldn't pass up.
  5. Good choice- almost forgot about it. Reminds me of .....
  6. My favorite track from the "Summertime" album. And with Spring right around the corner- it seems like a good idea.
  7. I think this might have been a U.S. bootleg label - all the other releases are from all over the place- Shirley Ellis "Soul Time", Parliaments "I Wanna Testify", Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs- "May I", the C.O.Ds- "Michael". I have the Parliaments on Canadian Transworld and I've seen the Darrell Banks on other Canadian labels so I suspect this is from the U.S.
  8. A copy in excellent condition sold for $129.62 (USD) about a year and a half ago.
  9. Another great one from Sharon and the group
  10. This wouldn't have made my Top 10 but does get big bonus points for being such an improvement on the original.
  11. Yes- that' where it came from.
  12. I almost forgot about this....
  13. When you think about it, the song went full circle when the Salsoul Orchestra used this for the basis of the later version of "Ooh I Love It (Love Break)". They even threw in a quick Gil Scott Heron sample in the "Love Is The Message" extended remix.
  14. I've never liked the original version of this song but I really like this remix which turns "love Is The Message" on its head.
  15. Great promo only sampler album. The cover concept is thought to have been conceived by Weldon McDougal.
  16. "Hang On In There" is the flip side of "I Wanna Know..." on U.S. Gamble #2508. I can't find anything about the 45 being on U.S. Philly Int'l.
  17. From the "Songs In The Key Of Life" album
  18. Here's my Top in no particular order off the top of my head (which could change) 1) Harold Melvin/ Blue Notes- "Bad Luck" 2) " "- "The Love I Lost" 3) Harold Melvin/ Blue Notes with Sharon Paige- "Hope That We Can Be Together Soon" 4) Johnny Williams- "Slow Motion" 5) O'Jays- "Love Train" 6) O'Jays- "Time To Get Down" 7) People's Choice- "Do It Any Way You Wanna" ( on P.I. subsidiary TSOP) 8) Teddy Pendergrass- "I Don"t Love You Anymore" 9) Teddy Pendergrass- "Love TKO" 10) Jean Carn- "Free Love" Jones Girls- "You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else"
  19. Here's another one from James that sounds like it could have been from the 60's
  20. Nice Crossover sound that gets overlooked.
  21. Most of my top picks have been listed- this one definitely would have been in my top 5 though
  22. All vocoder all the time on this song from 1977.
