  1. One more review for the thread-
  2. Definitely deserves a mention ...
  3. Although it sounds like there could be a connection between Ronnie and Robyn and Rick, Robin and Him, there is none. Rick was Richard Witte who wrote both sides of the single and also "Ain't No Place Like Motown" for the Velvelettes. Robin was Sally Fuhrman. The identity of Him is not that easy. The Motown session logs list the group only as Rick and Robin. There is also info that has Him as being Sally's brother Ron Fuhrman.
  4. Definitely bogus- Arlen went bust in 1964 so there's no way there would have been a stereo release on this single. Also, seems strange they took 2 separate ABC releases (#10573 and #10601) and had them on 1 45 on Arlen. The title and group type face also look more modern than what's used on other Arlen 45's.
  5. More info for the Soul Source Precisions archive ....
  6. If you go on Amazon, there's a 9 dvd set available. I've also seen every dvd sold separately if you don't want to buy the whole set.
  7. Thanks for the info. Here's a little more about Sidra.
  8. More regal Disco- adjacent R & B from the same album as the classic "You Know How To Love Me" R.I.P. Reggie !
  9. I don't know if I would go out of my way to go to Banana's. I was there 5-6 years ago. On the plus side, I was there with another person and after 3 hours, we still didn't get through all the 45's. Another plus was nothing was priced. On the minus side, nothing was priced. The person at the counter said just bring up what you find and, I'll give you a price. I had about 10 45's and the clerk told me what they do was go on the internet and take the high and low prices and then give an average price which sounded reasonable. Anyway, a half hour later he was still pricing the 45's. I don't know what he did but- everything was priced sky high. To be fair- that was 5-6 years ago. Also, the same person might not work there and they could have changed their pricing policy.
  10. The original version on P & P seems slower and doesn't have the same drive as the Roulette version. I have no idea which version got played in the U.K.
  11. "E.S.P" is the original version on P & P. The later version on Roulette was called "My Baby's Got E.S.P.".
  12. Here's one from Aretha...
  13. The perfect thing to put your Frank Wilson coffee cup on
  14. Can't forget this one.....
