  1. I was just Including the "Northern" tracks. So I guess there were 6 great releases that week !
  2. This is a different Janice to the one on Fantasy who is Janice Barnett Sadler.
  3. Three records that do absolutely nothing for me are - 1) the previously mentioned Cajun Hart 2) Judy Street- "What" 3) Dobie Gray- "Out On The Floor" I don't hate them, don't think they are bad records, I just don't get anything out of them.
  4. I believe it's also what week you decided to pick from the 60's- Here's 4 quality "Northern" releases from the week of 3/26/66 - The Reflections, Tammy Wayne, Lorraine Chandler and Tony Hestor -
  5. I can't get the first line but the second one sounds to me like "Can't you see baby, I'm trying to save this love of ours..."
  6. You are correct about the instrumental version which is on the B side of the 45 and the 12". I didn't see the instrumental on you tube so just posted the vocal version.
  7. A fine track from his "Uptight" album with a hint of "Dancing In The Street" -
  8. I can't find a pic of the issue copy of "Hang On" but, here's the boot copy compared to a regular Tower release -
  9. I think you're right Chalky because David Ruffins's first album is also blocked -
  10. Whatever the problem is, it happened later. "Message To Maria" hit the Billboard Top 100 and the R & B charts during October, 1968.
  11. This Richard Anthony (RIchard Btesh) is a different artist from the Philly Richard Anthony -
  12. Record World- July '66 -
  13. Audrey's 45 did get some airplay in Baltimore - she's at #29 on this survey -
  14. I just looked at the booklet that came with "The Northern Soul Of Dore- Rare Masters Volumes 1 & 2" - Night Owl and there is a pic of another one of the test pressings with slightly different info. No mention of what's on the flip -
  15. Sorry- didn't know that the stamps were only available in the USA !
  16. No- that's Jamal "Lucky" Davis -
  17. I don't know how many of you are stamp collectors but, I thought this could be of general interest. On April 2, the U.S. Post Office will be releasing a special commemorative Marvin Gaye stamp. Here's a single one and a book (16 stamps) made to look like a picture sleeve. More info on www.usps.com, pick postal store and stamps for more details .
  18. They were making Stereo 45's in the late 50's/ early 60's. The concept never caught on and did become more widespread in the late 60's -
  19. Almost 100% sure it was U.S. Laurie. U.K. Stateside started in 1962, the Laurie sleeve below is from the late 50"s -
  20. Looks like a bootleg- the release # 1522 is the same , but the type face etc. is off -
  21. The Mala sleeve you're asking about was used on Mala releases until 1964. The correct sleeve for Tobi Legend would be this one -
  22. Also co-wrote this -
  23. Here's a picture of the Australian Sue sleeve -
