  4. Concord was the original label for "The Gorilla". Here's an article from Cashbox (August, 1963) -
  5. I know the song has been mentioned a few times and there's already an audio clip but..... does anyone know anything about this clip? It looks more like a video than a television appearance. -

  7. The Concord label was owned by Howard Pittman who was a member of the Doo Wop group the Five Chances. Once the record became a big local hit, he wasn't able to keep up with the demand and sold the master for "...Gorilla" and the group's contract to Cortland.
