  1. Those two tracks may have been slated for the Silky Hargraves album mentioned at the end of this Record World article (October 4,1967).
  2. There's not much info on the label but I did find these 2 articles _
  3. I can't find any kind of promotion work RPR did for "Lonely Lover" but, the single did get favorable reviews in all 3 of the big Trade Papers (Billboard and Record World August 16,1969 and Cashbox in the August 23rd issue).
  4. I'm about 99% sure Dee Dee's version never came out on vinyl .
  5. Dee Dee cut the original version which is okay but doesn't compare to Doris Troy's version. Doris said she came in and sang over the tracks and changed the lyrics a bit and ended up getting co-writer's credits.
  6. Here's a Record World ad from March, 1966 showing "I'll Do Anything " as an upcoming release. As an aside, Mary Wheeler's "Prove It" is shown as a Parkway 45 instead of Calla.
  7. "Heartaches" was recorded in London and was written by Doris and Englishman Tommy Sanderson. "But I Love Him" is said to have been recorded in 1963 for Atlantic and was unreleased. Since "Heartaches" had already been issued in the U.K. on Atlantic, Cameo-Parkway U.K. decided to use "But I Love Him " as the flip side. All of this information is from the liner notes to the Ace/Kent CD "I'll Do Anything- The Doris Troy Anthology 1960 -1966".
  8. You are 100% correct- I was the one who made the mistake !
  9. I believe you meant May of 1966 for Bobby Hebb's "Sunny" (#13) -
  10. I'm re-posting this survey for the SS member that couldn't see the survey in my original post -
  11. The Andre Williams' 45 you mentioned came out March of 1967 (at # 40 on the WJMO survey . The Fantastic Four (Ric-Tic #122 is at #1) Valtone #101 most likely was released in September or October of 1968 with the Fabulous Apollos listed in the "Live 25" section on this survey from October 07, 1968.
  12. That version also came out in the U.S. on the "Disco-Trek" album -
  13. Great and informative interview. Fred mentioned Bill Craig a few times- here's a picture of Bill and Gwen Owens-

  16. You can listen to "Come To Me" on discogs .
  17. Just wanted to add another correction to the Brothers of Soul above discography. As you can see by the info provided by WVON, "I Guess That..." was already getting airplay in early February of '68 so February or even late January is a more likely release date -
