  1. Current credits for the song (on the Don't Forget The Motor City site) are Robert Staunton and Catherine Chapman. I'm not sure how Jump Jackson's name got on the credits. Also, I've only seen the yellow stock copies of Holly Maxwell .
  2. The Don Costa production probably does have some bearing. Another option is that Gino (now going by Darrin D'Anna) and the Reflections were both part of 1965's "Shower Of Stars" tour. They probably became friendly and remembered Gino when they were looking for a lead singer.
  3. In the liner notes to "Northern Soul's Classiest Rarities 2", there's an interview with Gino who says he did replace Tony Michaels as the lead singer of the Reflections . Gino never tells how this happened. I guess Tony decided to stay with Golden World while the rest of the group went to ABC .
  4. I think what you're looking for is this CD- It's "The Second Time Around" album + 13 bonus tracks.
  5. The article was from the January 22, 1966 issue of Record World.
  6. To make things even more confusing, I found this article in Record World that was published a week before the Eddie Regan article that was in Cashbox. I would guess Costa took the Eddie Regan master with him when he went to ABC -
  7. I'm not sure what you're getting. I'm reading that info as Ramal-Wilson produced the 45 for Don Costa Productions aka DCP.
  8. Patti was still with Atlantic at the time of this 45- the flip side of this new release on 45 was made in Chicago and most likely produced by Curtis Mayfield. For more info, there's a topic in the All About The Soul section from November of this year titled "Soul 4 Real New Release- Patti Labelle and the Bluebelles".
  9. One more for the list- This unissued song from 1968 was produced by Don Davis-
  10. Best wishes to everyone for 2022 and in the meantime -
  11. According to this article from Cashbox, (Jan. 29,1966), Eddie Regan's master was sold to DCP. I'm sure there is an interesting story about it ending up on ABC>

  13. Here's the Vince Sanders mentioned in the Abrahamian interview -
  14. I don't think there is any connection but, if you want to dig deeper, you can type in Bob Abrahamian or Sitting In The Park on Soul Sources Search. This should bring up his radio shows. I know he did an interview with Lee McKinney of the Magnetics- Lee might have given some info on the label.
  15. I saw a post on facebook that Wanda passed away on December 16th of this year. It was also posted on discogs. Thank you for so many great 45's !!
  16. I've only seen the yellow/green swirl label that looks like Capitol for the issues. Does the 7th Avenue Aviators exist on a red Congress issue?
  17. In Bob Pruter's book "Chicago Soul", he calls Avin "a local label". So- I would go with Chicago. And, there could be a connection with Avin and the Celtex label as both use Celtex Music for their releases. If that is true, Billy Lasley would be behind those labels and O-Pex and Expo.
  18. You are indeed correct- didn't notice it wasn't on Moira !!
  19. Not sure how rare the Belita Woods is- the 45 went to #4 on this survey- I'm sure it sold well locally .
  20. Here's my promo copy of the Watts... 45-
  21. Is the Porgy Williams shown above a later issue of this Porgy 45 (which has the same release # as the Porgy and the Monarchs "That's My Girl" ?
  22. I think that is an interesting theory but I don't know why a group would name itself after an event that occurred five + years in the future. The clothing is definitely early 70's and the autographed photo is dated " '73" so I'm not sure how that would work. But, thanks for your interest in the topic. I checked 2 of Curtis's live albums from that era ("Curtis Live" and "Curtis In Chicago- Recorded Live") and the band doesn't appear to be the same one. Thanks Chalky - much appreciated !!
  23. I doubt if it 2004 since that is "Three The Hard Way" by Travelin Soul. But , I believe Curtom 1977 is missing - maybe that is the Demolition 45 ?
  24. I would almost swear the pictures were from the early 70's just going by the clothing of the band members. There wasn't much black participation in Steve Dahl's Disco demolition so I doubt if there is any connection between the group and the event. But... I do appreciate all the research you did - THANKS ! ! Update- As I was handing back the pics to my friend, he said "I never noticed this- this picture is autographed" At the bottom right of the picture of the guitarist, it reads "Stephen Stone '73".
  25. I tried discogs, Billboard, Cashbox and Record World and couldn't find anything on the group. Thanks for doing the research !
