  2. I don't know Meaty, the rarest record in existence ??? Just got off e-bay and saw "Yes We Can Can" by the Pointer Sisters which the seller describes as "mega rare" !
  3. Not 100% sure on this, but ... The Argo label was renamed Cadet after a problem with the classical Argo label about who had rights to use the name. That's why the release numbers are the same. The original 45 was on the Argo label. The Chess release # is out of sequence with the rest of the releases and is probably a reissue. Hope this helps.
  4. "Raindrops" by Dee Clark on Vee Jay ???
  5. Thanks for adding the link- I could never get the video to play in the original e-mail I received. Vince's name pops up on a lot of 60s releases from Philly, some 70s gems - A Brother's Guiding Light etc. so there's much more to him then the Salsoul stuff.
  6. Not sure how many people will be interested in this BUT Vince "Mr. Salsoul Orchestra" Montana turned 80 on February 12th. There's a video on youtube- just type in "Vince Montana" and it will pop up. Nice soundclip from Double Exposure runs through it all !
  7. I was able to get on the website today with no problems so I was happy about that. I agree with Pete- lots of results never show up on the site- really don't think it's worth the fees they want to charge. Thanks for all your help !!
  8. I'm not sure- I might look at 8 or so records a month- it's not like I'm checking 50 records a day. The fees did seem pretty steep.
  9. I'm new to Soul Source and I've never started a topic before - hope this one doesn't get me into trouble. I went on a well known website ( or should I say sike) to get auction results and was told I was a frequent user and would have to pay a yearly fee to use the site. Has anyone else run into this problem??
  10. I guess the question is what are you going to do with them? There's a few on your list I wouldn't mind having. Let me know.
  11. I think the Profiles is a completely different song. This "Raindrops" was written by Flowers and Acklin.
  12. No... you're not going senile ! I can help you with half of the problem- Barbara Acklin did record "Raindrops" on Capitol #3892. The part I can't help you with is what CD you saw it on. Good luck, let us know - might be interested in buying it myself.
  13. Hi Tony! I knew that- that's why I said it was turned into "He Who Picks A Rose" I agree with you about Gladys' version of "...Grapevine".
  14. As long as we're talking about the Temptations. I'd like to add "I Gotta Find A Way (To Get You Back)" which was turned into "He Who Picks A Rose" by Jimmy Ruffin .
  15. I always got the impression that Soul was one area that was far beneath Mr. T. For some reason the early Motown 45s were okay to sell but anything else he couldn't be bothered with. Now, he's on e-bay with "TEFTELLER" next to his listings. Wonder why he's had the sudden change of heart ?
  16. When did this come out on Bell? What is the release # ??
  17. I would love to have an mp3 ! Bless ya !!
  18. Here's my question - I have volume one and two of this book. Volume two added about 100 new pages but was basically volume one. Did anyone buy volume three and notice a big difference between the older printings??
  19. Came across my copy- it's Aware #034- "Hanna Mae" / "Hanna Mae (instrumental)". You probably heard the instrumental- the A side is ruined by one of the most over the top vocals I've heard ! Anyway - glad I could help. And remember - everybody is a star !
  20. The song you're looking for is "Hannah Mae" by Deep Velvet on Aware Should be an easy one to find- good luck !
