  1. Thanks for the tip- it's so nice to be able to do a quick search and not get a message saying since you are a frequent user we would like you to join for the year. Bless ya !!
  2. I don't know what e-bay is up to. When I looked on Sunday there were about 27,000 items under R & B. On Monday there was 16,000.Sometimes there is an R & B category, other times I found a Soul category, today there is an R&B/Soul category. If you try to narrow your search to R & B 45s, it defaults to all 45s. I've seen 45s disappear when I check back to see what's been added. I contacted them about it, hope it gets fixed soon !
  3. "I Have Faith In You" or "My Weakness Is You "
  4. Osborne still isn't accurate- if you look at the 19th edition (2008?) he has "Just A Little Misunderstanding" by the Contours as a $750- 1000 record !
  5. "Take Me To The River " was released as a 45 on Hi. It was Hi #2285- b side is "Could I Be Falling In Love".
  6. Sylvia was Sylvia Robinson who was recording in the early 50s as Little Sylvia, later teamed up with Mickey Baker for "Love Is Strange" and then ran the Vibration, Stang, All Platinum labels. In the 80s's she started Sugar Hill Records. I've read she wrote "Pillow Talk" for Al Green who was not at all interested so she released the record on her own.
  7. The original issue of the 45 had the title as "Spring Song".
  8. It's a remake- just look at the producer's credits. Many companies remade songs hoping the buyer wouldn't catch it was a remade version.
  9. According to the book "45 rprm" , the reason the 45s had the larger center holes was because the engineers at RCA decided to come up with a new player for the 45s. The big feature was that you could stack 5 or 6 45s on top of each other for continuous music. They felt the larger center hole would distribute the stress and friction better and avoid the damage that happened to the small holes and labels of 78s.
  10. My original has Cragvee & Overcome Pub. Co. on the left side and the St. Lawrence on the bottom of the globe. Not sure if the first one you mentioned is a later pressing or a bootleg .
  11. I actually like most of the songs already mentioned. If I had to pick one that really does me in , it's "What Shall I Do" by Frankie and the Classicals. I'd rather listen to 2:28 of someone scratching their nails against a chalkboard- sheer torture for me. Ditto for "Moonlight Music In You" by Laura Greene.
  12. "Money" came out on the Tamla label first. When Berry was unable to keep up with orders, he leased the record to his sister's Anna label for national distribution.
  13. I don't know how e-bay uk works, but when they did this in the U.S., I kept playing with the page options tab in the left hand corner until I was able to get close to my old my e-bay page. Took about 15 minutes but it was worth it. I think the music search options is the next thing they're going to change.
  14. Here's the weather from the Chicago Tribune - Wednesday- Sunny- - high 41F Thursday- Sunny but clouding over in the afternoon- high 48F Friday- Partly sunny- high 54F Seems fine to me !!
  15. Chicago papers are saying sunny with a temperature of 47F (15 degrees above freezing). No snow is predicted. For a day in Chicago in March that really is a nice day for a white wedding !
  16. Thank you Sir ! Just checked again to make sure . Anyone want one for $800.00 ?
  17. Just checked the website, all 6000 copies have been sold of Volume Six. I think the price is still just a bit high though . You can buy an mp3 download of Volume Six for a measly $59.00. What a bargain !!
  18. It is Craig Moerer- he must have put on 4000 + 45s in the last 24 hours as buy it nows. The only problem is he is asking double price guide values for most of them. I think they'll be around for quite awhile.
  19. There's also a variation on the red phono sleeve that's pictured with the Spinners 45- I've seen it once in a light blue color. Looks very strange when you're used to always seeing it in red. I believe the album cover sleeves came out in late 1966/ early 1967.
  20. Sorry about the no reply 2nd post. The 45 was booted. According to Tim Brown's book, the matrix # (uv-5134) is faintly scratched in on the boot and the red color of the label looks washed out compared to the original. Sorry I couldn't post a scan- hope this helps !
  21. Prices are already posted in the Look At Your Box section.
