  1. Lolloping is where your legs go faster than your body in a very energetic pseudo run (like your rear is supported by some mystical force!) Looks bloody painful and dangerous from a distance! Just jealous coz i could never do it! Paul
  2. hordes of nubile young ladies thrashing about in admiration just for one's attention Yeah i'd do it for that! Paul
  3. Gil i'm in a lucky position. Ive got a spare self contained music system(ya know like the old days) looks like the lads are sortin' you out with your tune PM your address and I'll DHL/UPS you the gear to hear it big 'n loud just like it was recorded. Thanks Paul
  4. You get 2 for one on the reissue!
  5. My God I cannot believe how confused you all are! Stompin is The Champion/Bill Black type of music. So is the sun,Ton of dynamite et al is Lolllopin' Distinct difference and never confuse em on the dance floor - do so at your peril! (Especially at our age) With regards to the term STOMPER that was invented creatively by us lot to distiguish between the likes of Moses Smith Vs The Jewels. I suspect that raw energy = stomper Cheers Paul
  6. I think JALM was by Johnny Williams on Bashie. Paul
  7. Well done everyone! Had to laff at the post about it being played and possibly clearing the floor - that's the one reason i would hold on to the tune! A lot of the best tunes are the original floor clearers! Paul
  8. Put it in ya diary. Paul
  9. To all the detractors of the IL project to bring these artists to the screen try this little trick: A) Bang on any of the DVD's,turn the sound off,and watch the energy in the performers. I have always been a fan of any artist that puts energy into a tune (which you can do at 18 or 81 don't forget!) I personally reckon this quality is what sets NS apart - it covers slow as well as fast tunes but they ALL got energy! By lip reading see if you can guess any of the tunes (sounds hard but if someone gives you a jumbled list of all the tunes/artists on the DVD you might well be surprised.) When either by knowledge/luck/elimination you hit on a right answer THEN turn the sound on and you will realise it's the artists we're looking at and their input - this time around I'm afraid the music is secondary. We're lucky to have a chance to see even what these artists look like, never mind how they have weathered the storm of life. Unless you can backdrop etc the same as you did 30+ yrs ago I'm afraid your criticism should be kept to yourself. Paul
  10. Don't take it out on this world - Adams Toffee Apples! Paul
  11. Was La Beat the original release? Is it my ears or does the La Beat copy have a very slight dip about 2-3 secs in.Always wondered if this had something to do with the Palmer release? Paul
  12. Hey calm down Malc it's Fri afternoon,I was 'avin a laff!! Paul

  14. Hardest to find!!! Bin' to a few 'o them. Lataz Paul
  15. Is the flip Soul Meetin' on the orig? Was under the impression reissue had a different flip - could well be wrong though. Paul
  16. Your Uncle has given us a lot of joy on the dance floor over the years - nice to hear from you (albeit with that sad news) Paul
  17. Funny how Marvin Jones got renamed and Derek never did, might be an image thing. I guess he was positioned. Paul
  18. Those two are toughies on the floor at the best of times.Well done, admire your courage. Paul
  19. One of my all time fave instrumentals. That tune has class. Can't choose between PC and Al de Lory as to which is the most underplayed tune on the planet. Listen up, when they eventually get sorted out on Mars the real info coming back won't be they have water it will be that they've been playin' Al de Lory all along! Paul
  20. Thomas gave us the light. Henry gave us the car. Levi gave us................. a starting point. Thanks Paul
  21. Good & Cheap - the magic mixture! Don't know where you live but I believe a trip to a specialist shop where they have loads of tunes and a deck or two is worth every penny. Thing to remember is that we all have different tastes and you will find your groove on a mission like that, where I am sure you will find more than enough willing people to guide you. You have started with an awesome base with that CD. Good Luck Paul
  22. Well I'll tell ya somethin' if I had realised they had corned beef sandwiches??? at the back of that record room I wouldn't have wasted any of my hard earned on them stupid vinyl 7" things at that "The" Wigan Casino!! If I had come back from Wigan dressed like POG (after sneakin' off there anyway) my Old Man wouldn't have wasted his time on a good bollik*n he would have taken the easier route and rang some people in white coats and had me institutionalised!! Paul
  23. Mickey Valvano was involved in producing Motown acetates so ya never know who's had their mitts on it!! Paul
  24. Been thinking about this acetate and it has raised a question for me - perhaps somebody can assist. Do people have other Motown acetates to compare the general style/layout as I am intrigued by this Att B G Jnr. Does this stand for: Attendance/Attention? The reason I ask this is because B G Jnr was apparently responsible for scrapping the orig press and i don't understand if a) he was in attendance how it got to a press before he scrapped it b)if it was attention BG Jr did it get delayed getting to him(allowing the press to continue) on purpose to strenghten Frank Wilsons' hand in some sort of negotiating tactic. Anyone with any info appreciated. Thanks Paul
  25. Slightly off track but seem to recall somebody introducing another version of 'Stick By Me Baby' as Herman Hitson at Brid last year - have we any clues about this one? - sounded good to me. Paul
