  1. Very industrious musical genius, as said above, his name littered the labels. Early outta the gate....Damon Fox Packin' Up All time classic....Detroit Spinners I'll be around. RIP, back with the family. Paul

  3. Came across this on the web. The DOC label has always been an anomaly, however this snippet gives a bit of background regarding the label. The Smiley Bros on DOC is described as an ensemble from the Wrecking Crew, another FW link. Sounds like a worthy cause. Paul Also see "The Smiley Brothers" courtesy of H.R.B., Inc. [Helen R. Blumberg] "a nonprofit Pennsylvania corporation organized to raise funds to provide free dental care for the handicapped,"
  4. Yup. Paul
  5. The BG/BE story is true. BG mentioned it on a Radio 2 interview celebrating the 50th Motown anniversary. He actually said BE gave him 3 hours to decide, there were hardly any execs about to make a decision. The ones available he asked all agreed to reject the BE offer so BG phoned back and accepted it! That's what happens when you're the boss. Paul
  6. Surprised black puddings never even got a look in.....fake news. You can tell how skillful that fella contributing is as you can't even tell he has a ferret running up and down the inside of his strides! Just remember everyone on the scene was universally welcomed irrespective of geographical location, but then again the scene wasn't the norm. Paul

  8. I remember years ago in PC World and a young tech geek was filling my head with all sorts of confusing terminology about an impending laptop purchase. As I was at tech lingo breaking point on comes Tony Clarke Landslide. That was his time to be confused as I jigged around his expansive impromtu dance floor. Cheers Tony, you saved me! Might have been a great deal on the laptop,I'll never know. Paul
