  16. Great post thanks... My wife and i were so lucky to have met up with Edwin & Jean for a meal he insisted on paying, he shared with us how he made some of his records, one thing that stuck with me was, Edwin always wanted to get a still of a clip from the movie Shaft, It was where Richard Rountree was walking in Harlem as he passed under the Appolo the featured artist of the night was visable it was Edwin Starr, well i managed to get this for him but it was too late he had passed away, i was so gutted, i gave it to Jean and i still have a copy, mal
  17. Great track thanks a fav of mine is ain't that peculiar.. Regards Mal
  18. Thanks for that have MG as artist of the night next week at my venue each dj will play two tracks by the great man..
  19. I was so fortunate to see Sam & Dave live in Nottingham must have been the same time I was just well amazed effected by the performance and the dance moves, always state that I was influenced by their footwork, and still like a wee dance to soothe me, as for the Norway footage I have seen this before and have it on dvd always great to see, Regards Mal
  20. Just looking via the box last night and stumbled upon.....Marvin Gaye live in Amsterdam 1976 during his europe tour, this was on SKY 1. enjoyed it so much he covered some great tracks, just shut my eyes and well he was top drawer as always, i wonder did he appear in the UK also in 76, catch this if you can may be on again, Regards Mal
  21. Hi Pete Thanks for pointing that out then i must have 3 and one other, they are in the garage i will have to dig them out..... Had to dig em out it's 2&3 i have great tunes another track Stay a little Longer & raining in my heart one of the tracks had birds singing in the background this set of our canaries my dad kept this just cracked him up.... Mal
  22. I remember a Shop in Nottingham above the hand of four on goldsmith street only sold Bluebeat Blues vinyl, in fact the owner played records in the Bluebell boozer on forman street, i still have a few of those singles but my fav Lp's are tighten up volumes 1&2 and i still have them in the garage, just love Leaving Rome, Barbwire, some great tracks on these two LP's, Regards Mal
  23. Likewise Ted a first tune for me and it is just as good today, thought's are with the family, Mal
  24. Hi Pete Yes agree with you it again reminds me of.....You will never walk alone.... Origional Rodgers & Hammerstein. Great tune but my Fav is by Roy Hamilton, then Gerry Marsden did well with it and i suppose the Liverpool Kop made it great.....you can go on all night,
  25. While setting off this morning into that Fog and ice a tune came through the radio....At Last by Geof Lynn.. Well i was not that impressed but thought You cannot beat the one by Etta James...... My thought while heading South was how many Northern Tracks have been made by Artists with the same title, One tune i do like a lot is Wade in the water now that was done by a few.... Just a thought be good to hear some others that have been done, and which do you prefer the first released or second, or third, Regards Mal...
