  12. Thanks for showing the photo's, I do not have any pic's from the 60s-70s. The faded Denim with the small os turnup was the main line but i have rembered another shirt which i did not wear Brutus the one with the rounded collar, and the Burton made to measure suit was a must, a friend of mine had the largest single vent the jacket looked ripped up the middle with loads of cuff buttons in herringbone cloth. As someone mentioned it was a great ERA for clothes. Mall
  13. Not able to remember Frodo's went in the Imparial took the Australian White Wine in Yates, You know the Leather coat cost more than the doormans suit, andi should one day get someone to have a look through my old record collection i have about 400 singles i purchased way back then some from Germany not to mention the LPs. Mall
  14. Hi Chris Great memories you reminded me of a visit to Preston to watch Forest, this was linked to going on to Blackpool Mecca, I went on the pitch after to grab a word with Duncan Mckenzie I said Dunc dont leave Forest, He went the following week, and would you believe it he was the introduced Forest legend at the Swansea game, I shook his hand and reminded him i got a wry smile! What a player he admitted he could jump over a Mini? I was refused entry at the fountain for wearing a full lengh leather, Remember the Bodega also great place. See you out on the floor. Mall
  15. Hi Ezzie Another memory jog, A friend of mine had a pair of brogues fitted with a Doc Martin Sole it started a boom at Smedleys coblers in Bulwell Nottingham, and you could dance in them great. Regards Mall
  16. Hi Harry You know when i started this of i forgot about the word GEAR, you reminded me of my first visit to the Twisted Wheel, A chap wearing a black beret asked if i wanted any gear? And my reply was wearing it mate as the night wore on i sussed it. Thanks for the reminder brought a smile Mall
  17. Back in the 60's through to the 70's the gear i wore was in it's prime. Getting the right stuff to go in to the northern gig's was a part of the scene. My personal favourite's were. Brogue or Loffa shoes black or oxblood (highly polished) Two Tone or stay press trousers or faded Levi's which had been boiled to bit's to fade them, A fred perry white shirt, or Slazenger,, White Ben Sherman with the loop at the back, Black leather gloves (for the back drops) the floor was tiled at the Wheel. A pair of Roxy Threads cord Baggies (not too Much Width) sewn in crease, Ticket pockets,Loads Buttons in fact zipped pockets. The Jacket was the best dark brown leather bomber silk lining went everywhere that did creased to bits. Also a good faded Levi Jacket. And of course the bag to hold the spare clobber to change into. I cannot remember what the ladies wore perhaps someone can remind me. But the clothes are not as good today as they was then perhaps they were all made in the Uk. Anyway i reminisce but what did you wear on the Soul scene Oh i still have my old sheepskin Jacket!!!!!!!! Mall Redman Central Soul & Federation Soul Clubs
