  1. The text looks silver not gold - not promising, although very often the picture of this label doesn't show well

The Nashville Matrix on mine is in much finer/smaller script and less bold - not promising, although it may just be a deeper impression

The "Nashville" in the matrix appears to be spelled a single "L" and not double "L". - not promising, although my eyes are crap

In summary, I'd have to say....not promising! (although I know nothing).

In fairness, the seller's other records all look good so I'm not sure they are trying to mislead anyone.

  2. You could ask John to sell it again.

He could even use the same wording he used the last time he sold one in October 2017.....!!!

Eye Candy for the British collector ..A pulse quickening vision of vinyl beauty.

Nothing I can say about this Northern Soul anthem could elevate it any higher that it already placed in the hearts & minds of the Northern Soul community...

What I can reiterate is we doubt we'll ever be able to offer a more perfect copy than the one that staring back at you today..

If your vinyl collecting priorities are Condition, Condition, Condition, do not miss an very rare opportunity to own near perfection of what is perhaps the single greatest contribution to the Northern Soul ear.. 2 x over.

Or miss the chance of the miss spelled a-side title "Open The Door OF Your Heart" after EMI went to such great lengths to secure UK right after Decca thought it was all the theirs to run with.. Decca's failure to dot the "I's" and cross the "T's" let slip one of EMI's contasted seller from 1966 to 1972 EMI constantly repressed and reissued to meet the demand this Twisted Wheel anthem had sparked..

But before you today is the FIRST BORN, very, very rare and such a flawless baby..

    Condition Report

A truly stunning copy, two unblemished labels, immaculate vinyl, easily the finest copy we've ever encountered in memory. FLAWLESS condition, nobody will ever require an upgrade if they can secure ownership on this Northern Soul anthem.

    Sorry, this auction has ended.

Was this actually played at Wigan? Really? Must have been WELL after I quit the scene. If Russ or Richard had spun this in 74, they'd most likely have been prodded several times with something sharp and pointy. It really is quite dreadful. Please, make it go away. PLEASE!

From memory, it was a big play in 1977.

I assume that the "sharp and pointy" thing you refer to would be a lethal injection!!!!!!!!

  4. I've been having the same problems. It seems to have started when the "watch list" page layout was updated.

I've tried using Chrome, Internet Explorer and Edge.

    All the same, all crappy!

I used to be able to specify 200 items per page and exclude certain sellers. Now when I use the "advanced" search option, it ignores the already selected items such as "records" and "R&B" and reverts back to "All Categories". The results also always go back to 48 per page.

I've also noticed that some records "disappear" from my watch list temporarily or the list is different on .com and .uk

I assume it'll get sorted out at some point. But the advice above hasn't worked for me.

    Cheers

  5. I've bought a few things and always been pleased and happy that they were in top condition even when described as VG. While I wouldn't class myself as fussy as I don't mind something that has had "a bit of a life", I do expect to get what's described at the very least. CS has always under- promised and over delivered.

With regard to the bidder who seems to be on lot's of the items, the picture is as below. Sometimes folks send records to certain dealers to sell on their behalf. The original owner owner could be tempted to fire in a few bids which the dealer listing would not have been directly responsible for. I'm not saying that is the case here....(45 bid retractions !!!). Some folks just like certain dealers.

  6. Here's a scan of my copy that I bought from Max in about 1977/78 with the card sleeve with his writing on. It was in one of those box's that we had all picked over time and time again and had been left behind after he'd sold the bulk of his stuff.

    He'd played it at the Cat's !

It still has a little tape residue around the run-out from where the label was covered up.

On one of visit, possibly late 1977/early 1978, a mate and I got there very early and I remember seeing one of those fluro-orange posters outside advertising Billy Butler as a guest:thumbsup:

  8. Interesting to see that Roger Daltrey is to release an album which includes a cover of Garnet Mims - As long As I have You.

He was on Chris Evans breakfast show this week to promote it. Prefer Garnet studio version personally !

I'm not sure what else will be included
