Here's a Laurie Discog. Haven't read all of the previous longer posts.
https://www.globaldog...o/l/laurie.html
The Dynamics issue number on Laurie is 3627. On the Discog that number is allocated to a group called Hucklebuck and issued in 1975. Can't see the Dynamics on the list.
Also, the sound quality on the Laurie version is crap/distorted. I'm no expert but all that points to it not being a legit 1960's thingy!
Always makes me smile if I hear it out and the sound distorts - particularly at OVO venues.

I watched this as well.
Someone paid $305 in Jan 2008 and $92 in Feb 2010.
Thought I was mising something!!
Incidentally, about 18 months ago I saw he had a Wombat "Original" for sale at $300. I asked for a picture (as there wasn't one on at the time) just to check and sure enough it was the re-issue. I e-mailed to tell them and pointed them in the direction of a picture of a real one. They thanked me for the info and said they would inform the boss. It still remains for sale.
P.S. - apologies if I have it wrong on the Wombat.

Hi All
I spotted this item of news and thought it would be of interest.
https://www.thisismon...e#StartComments
Wondered what experience folks had of it with records?
DO you think it's OK?
If you think it's OK would you be less inclined to do it or be a bit more creative?
Would you mind if your suspected that it was going on but you were happy with the price of the record anyway?
By the way - I'm not implying that anyone on here does this or having a pop at anyone, just thought it was interesting.

Anything after 1970 doesn't count
Will this do??
-
Just checked.
USA ABC - Earl Jackson - no. 11142
USA ABC - Eddie Holman (I surrender)- no. 11149
Lebanon ABC - Earl Jackson - no. 802
Lebanon ABC - Eddie Holman - no. 807
On that basis with the EJ coming out in USA 7 numbers before EH in the 60's, it seems to tie up with the Leb. EJ being 5 numbers before EH.
Seems pukka but I wouldn't want it! (but I'd still like a USA one!)
(I'll get me anorak on now and try to cop a few more train numbers and Eddie Stobbart lorries before bedtime)

I'm sure Mick Holdsworth had one of those Eddie Holmans for sale a couple of years ago - I remember seeing it at the Connaught. Quite disctinctive memory as Sandi stuck it up her blouse at one point!!
He was selling it for about £50 as I recall. Think you were there that night as well Pete.
There was no rush to buy that one.
The Earl Jackson is a bit different but I still wonder about 60's/70's thing and I'd be reluctant to put a wedge of cash out on it.

This was put up for sale a week or so ago. I seem to recall the opening bid required was £500. Looks like it sold for £500 after 22 bids??? Strange.
https://www.popsike.c...0521190592.html
I have been after a real Earl Jackson but wasn't sure if this was a 70's release made at the same time as the UK 70's release to meet Northern Soul demand over here.
Personally, wouldn't buy this 45 with that doubt in my mind and at that price.

I think it's Dutch. Got one also and this got a better B-side than Fania, "Work out" which is a killer too
And yes it's Monguito which is Mongos son
Thanks Tommy, I'll check out "Work Out"
-
Not sure where mine's from - Belgium? Dutch?
-
Looks like Steve "Dancing Demon" Powell in mid-flight at 17 seconds!!

I paid about £30 on ebay about 18 months ago.
2 release numbers - 729 and 737. I assume 729 was first??
-
Bobby Paris - I walked away
Also at the same time......
Teddy Vann - Theme from......
-
Just checked mine and looks like "Everything" was the A side in the swinging 60's!
-
Here's a pic of mine. I was advised by JM that it was a 70's boot!
-
Last time I looked it was going for quite a bit. What did it eventually go for?
$122.50
At current ebay exchange rate = £76.61.
As I recall there are a couple of label designs that impact on price. Mine is the "star" design. The one sold was the plain blue one.
The other side now seems to be the "current" sound.
