  1. Hi Pete I bought one on the JM Dropdown auction a year or so ago. Wasn't noted as a demo but a nice suprise when it arrived. I called John and they hadn't noticed the Radio Station bit on the label. He said if they had it would defo not been in the Dropdown. I watched your copy on eBay out of curiosity to see the finish price. Nice to have and doesn't crop up that often on a demo. As it's the same colour as the issue and the Radio Station bit is positioned in a less usual place, people just may not notice. I bought my first copy from Blue Max in the late 70's. Apparently he had played it at the Cat's but it was forgotten due to the rapid turnover in those days. I remember hearing it played occasionally at Wigan on Saturday Nights Cheers Kev Bod
  2. Looks like the seller is now listing items individually. Worth checking out. Also, if you were after a few 45's that aren't listed, it might be useful to send a message.
  3. Just checked and it's £150. There's a note about an auction finish price of £164 in 2008. 4. Just noticed this on eBay. Will it sell? How much would you value it at? How much would it cost to put together - even if you could find all the records? Must have taken a lifetime to put together. Interesting https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TAMLA-MOTOWN-COMPLETE-UK-45-RPMs-ISSUES-COLLECTION-EX-/290563743404?pt=UK_Records&hash=item43a6f2deac
  5. Wouldn't normaly post up about "live" auctions, but thought this was OK as the 45 is listed on ebay in the correct section, by one of the biggest dealers and a $99 start price. Appologies in advance to anyone who thought it was a secret !! Thought it might be a useful discussion as a member on here recently bought a Timi Yuro acetate which I think they later regretted having read discussions on SS (no, not me!) https://cgi.ebay.com/...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT It's a MEXICAN acetate of Lou Ragland -AMY - on 1 side and Bobby WIlson - VOLT - on the other. This seems an odd combination for an acetate put together in the 1960's. Sound quality on the clip shows that it's well worn. What do you think? I'd be well impressed if it's puka but have my doubts! Any thoughts or info guy's. Kev Bod
  6. Here's a scan of the sleeve notes from the Goldmine CD, Chi Town Boogaloo. I've got the Zachron version which crops up much less frequently thank the other label (IMO). Can't say I can tell the difference but TB seems to think there is. A great record.
  7. Found this album cover. Classic 60's look. Wouldn't look out of place on the Austin Powers film set!
  8. Interesting, thanks for the reply. Is it the same woman who also recorded as Sheila B Devotion?
  9. Just seen this finish on ebay. https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=150590340201&si=RZ6x5pXeHjZbf0771xh7reCo0Co%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT Check the sound clip, sit back and "enjoy". Not sure who it is.
  10. Profiles on Duo - about £10? Got to be your lover/If I didn't love you (never can get the hang of the embed thing! soetimes I do it sometimes not!)
  11. Hi, This is a new addition to the John Manship auction. Good Luck. Kev Bod.
  12. And original has "Nashville Matrix" stamp
  13. Hi again, It would be interesting to know what speed the disc plays at. The acetate label says at the bottom that it it to be used for 33rpm or 78 rpm. It would add to the questions if it played at 45rpm. Cheers KB
  14. Hi Might be worth checking the above threads. The first one covers your specific disc and the second is is a more general thread with attention drawn to this disc. Hope it helps All the best KB
  15. Yep Ken, got the LP myself - 5 quid of ebay 2 years ago. But this looks like a USA acetate of the single - not an acetate of the LP. Should have said no USA release of the SINGLE.
  16. Just noticed this on Ebay. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TIMI-YURO-45-ITLL-NEVER-OVER-ME-ACETATE-SCARCE-/220748372580?pt=UK_Records&hash=item3365a0da64 A USA Acetate?? What do you think? Legit and will go for a fortune? or Looks a bit odd? I'm not questioning the sellers integrity or the credentials of the disc, just thought it was odd as there was no USA release. Perhaps they did this and deceided not to bother - I dunno!!

  18. A few from Wolverhampton used to go to Tiffany's in Newcastle Under Lyme. The Flaming Emeralds sticks in my mind from that venue. Here's a ticket from 1978. Also liked going to the Locarno in Birmingham - particularly after an alnighter.
  19. Could be The Radiants - Hold On https://www.soul-sour...-hold-on-chess/ Good Luck ! Kev Bod radiants - hold on - chess
  20. Is Jerry's version the first version? Did Bill Medley ever record it? He is credited as the writer.
  21. Thanks for the info and thoughts. John, it's styrene with a stick on label. Markings in deadwax are scratched in rather than machine stamped. Just checked popsike and found this issue... https://www.popsike.com/rare-Northern-Soul-45-CHRIS-MORGAN-who-am-i-BELL-Listen/350242480915.html Looks like an issue of the Demo I have. Dave, thanks for the input. I'm happy that it's legit! Personally, I prefer the Chris Morgan version. Jerry's version is good but doesn't really get going for me until about half way through. Interesting bit of banter for a rainy Saturday in February, 2 degrees on the thermometer.
  22. Hello All, I've had this a few years and saw one for sale recently. It's a Demo, but the label is just WHITE. Most of the Bell USA Demo's I've seen have a coloured Logo in the background. I thought it looked odd when I got it but just tucked it away and did nothing more about it. Is this a boot? Any thoughts ot comments? Thanks KB
  23. Hi Dave, You've got a very observant "Evil Eye". I didn't think they matched but as it came floating across from the USA dressed like that I thought I'd leave it alone!
  24. Isn't this also collected for the B side by Psych Types?
