  1. Larry end date has been extended for an extra week due to potential website bidding problems. Still not too late to arrange that re-mortgage or sell a kidney!!
  2. Hi Folks, Still looking for an ORIGINAL ASHFORD copy of Eddie Parker, love you Baby. Please PM me if you have a copy or can put me in contact with a potential seller. Thanks for looking. Kev Bodley
  3. I have a book in which I've listed records I want to buy and the prices I want to pay. No-one ever sells records at those prices!!
  4. Hi Dave, Have a look at this site. I've copied 2 links, 1 for Disco 66/67 series and 1 for Soul Supply series. I can't confirm how complete or accurate it is, but does look pretty good. I'm not sure who "martin" is or if he's a member on this site. All the best Kev Bodley https://martinsbox.tripod.com/id39.htm https://martinsbox.tripod.com/id52.htm
  5. I've just scanned both sides of both discs. Lady Day a great record. Just come out on KENT!! I didn't realise that it was sufficiently in demand to be worth re-issuing. Cheers Kev Bod
  6. Hi Phil, Any input welcome. It's one that's in collections but doesn't circulate that often IMO. Last one I saw for sale was on Tim Browns auction. Before that there was one one here at a set sale price. People's taste's, priorities and circumstances change over time and hopefully I can help someone who wants to swap that particular bid of old plastic for some cash!! Not seen any others recently though - so any info/leads greatfully received. Cheers Kev Bodley
  7. Hi, Just a little "bump" for the Bank Holiday weekend. (won't make a habit of it - honest!!) Please PM if you have a DEMO copy that you are looking to sell. All the best
  8. Yes as a styrene yellow Issue - in the late 70's when it was popular. As I mentiond above - never seen an original VINYL yellow issue - Do they exist??
  9. Often wondered about this myself. Often used in sales...."great two stepper..". I'd agree it's the sort of this you might like to listen to but not sure of how it's fits in if played at a Norther Soul type venue. I have this record, a nice cheapo, and have always assumed it fitted the description. Currently £15 on JM site. Moses - Sweetest Love https://youtu.be/lEk3So5rLeA
  10. Pat Brady had one on his auction recently. I missed the final value. Doesn't seem to crop up on a regualr basis. Never seen a proper ISSUE, only demo's. Are there any original vinyl issues about?
  11. Looking for a nice copy of Eddie Parker - Love You Baby - Ashford DEMO. Not looking for an ISSUE thanks. Please pm with details of condition AND THE PRICE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR including postage to UK. I'll either say yes please or no thanks - simple!! If you have a scan of labels, that would be good. Thanks
  12. Also has a good 70's version of "Open The Door To Your Heart" on the other side. Worth having for that! Kev Bod
  13. Just checked a few old mailers in the garage. When they have a value, I seem to have had mainly $5 gifts!!! Hadn't noticed before. I'd assumed that no value was declared when a gift. Cheers Jon. KB (p.s. - you a cyclist?)
  14. Thanks for that George, Were there any other records on the Goldspot label? Also, always sruck me as an odd design. It's my understanding that on some American 45s, a "blob" of gold paint was used to indicate a "deleted/returned" record, a bit like the drilled hole. Loads of copies of The Steinways 45 on Oliver have this. So havng a label that looked like it was deleted from day one was crazy!! Of course, I may be talking complete rubbish as usual. Cheers
  15. Very interesting this. One of my favorite records. I have a Goldspot one. To me the Goldspot version sound a little less "slick". The GAR one being more polished. In a similar way to the Natual Four - "I though you were mine" - Boola Boola and ABC versions. Personaly, I'd have thought the more polished version came second. I like both and would buy Pete's if I hadn't spent enough this month!! (and last month, and the month before, and.........) Here's a link I came across that lists Ohio Soul. Kev Bod https://www.ohiosoulrecordings.com/g.htm
  16. Paul Henry, wasn't he the bloke that played Benny in Crossroads!!
  17. I bought it in the late 70's from Max Millward. The record is vinyl with a thicker, 1 cm bit round the outer edge - a bit like those Marvin Holmes "better keep her" vinyl issue on Brown Door. I called JM about this a few years ago and he said the they were boots. I quite like it as it has that bit of counting in at the start!! Cheers. Kev Bod
  18. Sue Lynne - Don't Pity Me. Family Affair - Love muscle hussle What about Julian Covey - A little bit hurt, and Wynder K Frog - Green Door, were they UK recorded?
  19. Carl Douglas - Serving A Sentance.. John Andrews.....
  20. I also have a white demo that doesn't play either. The slower side is a bit dull but the other side is OK. I do have a demo that has the correct tunes. The matrix on the "proper one" has the smaller font numbers. The mis-press has the larger font number (1005). Obviously quality control had the day off. Curious as to what the mis-press tunes are if anybody knows. Cheers Kev Bod (P.S. I kept the mis-press as it only cost about $3. Would have cost more to return)
  21. No Mick, it's a magazine. Records are the round plastic-y things. That was an oblong paper-y thing (posted at same time as Bearey - great minds....)
  22. Hi John, Bit confused on this one. If the package was marked as "Gift" then what value was used to establish a charge?? When I've received records marked as "gift" there is non value declared Cheers Kev Bod
  23. As I mentioned above, I had to pay a (small) charge for a record which I then returned as it wasn't as described. I didn't look into the possibility of reclaiming the charge but.....I wonder if your could reclaim with an expensive item and the charge is THAT big? Also, if you could, what proof would be needed?
