  1. I think the Ronnie Forte record arrived here in volume in the UK in the late 70's. Similar to Frank Beverly on Sassy and John Bowie. Certainly Pep in Wolverhampton had load's. All mint condition and sold for either £3 or possibly £5. That's when/where I got mine. So, plenty out there but likely to be sitting in dormant collections. And if they aren't circulating and there is demand.......
  2. Blimey, dance floor etiquette isn't what it used to be!
  3. Looks like a great LP. Was yours the Australian MCA as on the JM site? (As with the 45, I think the UNI copy is widely available)
  4. John Manship is selling the LP for £100. Don't know if that helps at all . Great record. https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/d/200455/GREEN,_GARLAND
  5. Sorry Jim, no offence. The John Manship Auction page in post #1 is an ISSUE for £133
  6. This latest one is a DEMO. I bought a demo from Mick Smith via EBAY which has an information/promo page which was originally glued to the sleeve.
  7. I'm sure it must just be me, but every time I return to this thread, this image keeps springing to mind.... https://youtu.be/c3BGWJ8s82Y
  8. Following on from the comments earlier in the thread, you really can hear how it's slower/the vocal was "speeded-up". Seems to give it a different "feel".
  9. Thanks for posting this scan. Must be super-rare. It that yours
  10. Is there an Arctic ISSUE of this? Was it ever issued? I've only ever seen Demo's. I'd be interested to know or see a picture if anyone has one
  11. That was an estimate from DC "Swallow"
  12. Hi, I just checked and Dave is correct. Also, the handwriting style is different on the 2 sides Much neater and more visible on the "Alone" side.
  13. These articles are BRILLIANT! Classic quotes.. "there are more ways to kill a pig than choking it to death!!" "If I had a bomb I'd have blown it (the Casino) up 2 years ago" Also a comprehensive list of drink prices!!
  14. This "cover-up" has now found it's way onto the JM Auction. Not covered-up! Shirley Johnson - Too Big To Cry, as someone mentioned previously in the thread I think.
  15. "Velours", "Judy Freeman" and "Towanda Barnes" issues are much less common than the Demo's which are about a fair bit.
  16. Just noticed this on Youtube. I liked it. It's Cecil Washington (in 2011) singing the USA National Anthem. A couple of things came to mind - How GOOD he is - Didn't know he had dealt with Throat Cancer. And this was AFTER he'd had Cancer. hope he's OK now. (apologies if previously posted) https://youtu.be/7JaP7Qq7VTY
  17. Agreed. With the bonus of the Honeybees instrumental on the B side.
  18. I'll have to catch up on those another day I need to be in bed by 10pm these days on account of too much "living for the weekend" in the 70's (when I used to start to get ready to go out an 10pm)
  19. Just noticed the "Northern Soul - Living for the weekend" is being repeated on BBC 4 tonight (27th March 2015) at 9pm. The whole episode is already on youtube for those who can't wait!! https://youtu.be/1P9bNEwbvNU
  20. I've got one of those as well!! Never found out what the tunes are. Did manage to get a white demo with the right one's on a little later (snap with post above )
  21. Re Rouser - The El Corols "Chick" version on Rouser also has the edited start.
  22. Hi Folks Looking for a Silky Hargraves Dearborn ISSUE please. Not looking for a demo. Must be in at least EX condition. Please PM with the price you are looking for. I'll either say Yes Please or No thanks. Please don't ask me to make an offer. Cheers Kev Bod Sorted now thanks.
  23. Rufus Lumley - "Stronger Than Me" and Earth, Wind and Fire - "Got to get you into my life" both remind me of Yate. I only went about 5 or 6 times. Doris Troy - "I'll do anything" reminds me of Wigan. The first time I went was September Oldies night 1977. It was being re-released on Pye that week and they played it in the main room 7 times!!!!!
  24. Thanks for the reply's so far There are 7 on the Popsike like above in post #1. Not that many. With a few listed on here - not sure if any were the same copies circulating. Sometimes more expensive records are highly regarded but when it comes to selling they can stick for a while.
