  1. Hi, I posted a scan of my copy in the previous thread. However, may as well add to this one so they are all in the same place. On mine, they went slightly "rogue" and used a red pen with dashes between the numbers !
  2. Hi All, We have just been contacted by the venue. Apparently, part of the roof has given way/collapsed and rain has been coming in. Therefore, they have cancelled the event as repairs cannot be guaranteed to be completed prior to the 20th. Please accept our apologies. We were all looking forward to another night at the Town Hall. We are looking at an alternative date to fit in prior to the October event already in the diary and on the Soul Source event calendar. Thanks for your understanding.
  3. I came across this on youtube and it made me smile! Any members who are not happy with what their boss or customer asks them to do could email them a link to the video. Also, perhaps imagine any politicians who are no-longer employed saying this to the press! p.s. - It's also worth checking out some of the other tracks on the channel
  4. I'd forgotten about this. Genuinely great set of songs and videos. Really enjoyable. Thanks @Mike
  5. Hi @Robbk I was just having a look and John Manship current auction items and your old thread came to mind!! https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/james-brown-bobby-byrd-fight-against-drug-abuse-fight-against-drug-abuse-king-psa-1-dj.html I know it's 7 years too late, but is this what you were thinking about James Brown / Bobby Byrd - Fight Against Drug Abuse / Fight Against Drug Abuse - King PSA 1 DJ James Brown / Bobby Byrd Fight Against Drug Abuse (James Brown) / Fight Against Drug Abuse (Bobby Byrd) King: PSA 1 DJ Artist: James Brown / Bobby Byrd A Side: Fight Against Drug Abuse (James Brown) B Side: Fight Against Drug Abuse (Bobby Byrd) Label: King Format: 45s Condition Vinyl Condition:M- Label Condition:M- Sleeve Condition:M- 03/07/2024 18:00 UK TIME Promo only "Public Service Announcement" 45s, one of James's rarest singles. Apparently only promoted by Starday-King Records, Inc. mail out exclusively to "Black Radio Stations". Incredibly elusive and in flawless condition. In repetitive "Trumpian" style JB preaches in "Drugs Are Super Bad, Super Bad, Super Bad, Super Bad..." On the flip Bobby Byrd, repeats the message over a proper hard hitting FUNK rhythms track. Ideal for Breaks, Beats and comping... both the menacing vocal and the edgy music begging to be utilized. For the serious JB collector this is hard to find, in mint condition very hard. Condition Report Two clean promo labels, full gloss mint minus vinyl, still housed in birth-sleeve. 6. I have a Demo, but the red star is ABOVE the CG-268 number on the left side! So, that's an additional one to those listed on Discogs.
  7. Hi All, Still looking for Major Lance - Monkey Time - Columbia DEMO. Please get in touch if you have one to sell. Please include condition and price. Thanks
  8. John Andrews - It's Just Love..
  9. Carl Douglas - Serving A Sentence... (I was going to include Baby Washington, Get a hold of Yourself, but it's also on a VEEP USA LP)
  10. Thanks for the reply. It does seem to be very scarce. If you decide to release Tony back into the wild, let me know!!
  11. Agreed - very nice! What country does it come from? Italy, Canada??
  12. Whenever I've been successful on John's auction, I paid the winning bid plus postage. With those Omega auctions that run occasionally, you end up paying an additional 28.8% (ish!!). In that situation, if you will go as high as say £500, your highest bid would be £388 (£500 divided by 1.28). Equally, if you win an item for £500, you'll pay £644 (£500 multiplied by 1.28). Hope that helps. KB
  13. Just as a reference or bit of additional information, I have this Temptations British Test Press of TMG 633. It is vinyl and has the raised KT mark on the center and correct machine stamps on both sides. There's no sign of LPFB on it. There doesn't seem to be much demand or value in these. I got this from eBay a few years ago for a couple of pounds. I don't think anyone else bid.
  14. Hi Tim, I have this ZTSP one which is Styrene. Is that the one you wanted to know about? If not, sorry for butting in!! Cheers, Kev Bod
  15. I like to buy Canadian records occasionally. I'm sure that I was watching a few items from a Canadian seller, very recently, that included one of these. The starting bid was $50. It didn't sell on first listing. When they relisted, I think it went for the minimum bid of $50. If you like classic records on something a little different, they're nice to pick up. However, it doesn't seem to be a big market with mass appeal. Cheers
  16. I don't think that "The Soul Scene" has any more or less "Neurodivergent" folks than any other special interest or hobby. It just provides a platform or outlet for those traits to be displayed. About 35 years ago, my wife bought me a scalextric set as a bit of a joke present. I bought a few more bits and bobs and, after a while, I visited a "slot car" racing club! They were all nice people, but talk about obsessive behavior... !!
  17. Hi Angus, Thanks for getting in touch. I've seen that one and the one on Discogs. Think it's a little too much based on the current market and info from a couple of people on this site re prices they've sold for in the last 6 months. So... I'll wait for the right copy at the right price. Always more records than money!!! All the best, KB
  18. Thanks to everyone who attended. Hope you enjoyed the music and this wonderful venue. See you in July for the next instalment.
  19. Hi, I'm looking for an original in nice condition please. Angela Davis - My Love Is So Strong. I've seen the 2 on Discogs which I think are way too expensive, taking into account recent sales that I'm aware of. Please send a p.m. with details of condition and the price you are looking for. Payment by Paypal. Thanks KB

  22. Still looking for Major Lance - Monkey Time - Columbia DEMO. Please get in touch if you have one you might let go. Ta. Or, just add a comment if you have one - even if not for sale! It would just be nice to know they are out there!!
  23. Hi, I've just spoken to Kev S and we've agreed the last date to purchase tickets and have them POSTED OUT to your home will be this Friday, 22nd March 2024. You can still contact me to buy tickets after that and we will hold them on the door. All the best, KB
  24. If you're planning out your Bank Holiday adventures, have a think about including us!! Playing your past, present and future favorites. As I had COVID for most of February, I've had plenty of time to sort through the record boxes and come up with a few unexpected gems. It'll be chance to have a play about before the adults start! See you there.
  25. Wow, didn't know Russ played the violin!!!
