  1. Some good records being mentioned here - I seem to coming up with the more "questionable" one's! So....how about The Camp and "Marching"....to compete with my Tim Tam addition!
  2. From memory, it was a big play in 1977. I assume that the "sharp and pointy" thing you refer to would be a lethal injection!!!!!!!!
  3. I've just done a search of the thread and can't see this mentioned, although someone may have just posted a youtube link and a few words. So, just in case it's been missed, here you go.... (And if it has been mentioned, it's got to be worth a second one!! Tim Tam - Wait a minute
  4. AH 101 seems to be listed here as November 1963.... https://www.45cat.com/label/atlantic-nl With only a few months between them and nearly 55 years ago, I think both are worthwhile having, whichever was first. Nice topic.
  5. I've been having the same problems. It seems to have started when the "watch list" page layout was updated. I've tried using Chrome, Internet Explorer and Edge. All the same, all crappy! I used to be able to specify 200 items per page and exclude certain sellers. Now when I use the "advanced" search option, it ignores the already selected items such as "records" and "R&B" and reverts back to "All Categories". The results also always go back to 48 per page. I've also noticed that some records "disappear" from my watch list temporarily or the list is different on .com and .uk I assume it'll get sorted out at some point. But the advice above hasn't worked for me. Cheers kev Bod
  6. A pleasure, and welcome to Soul Source.
  7. You're Ok with your Spyder Turner - That is an original and a great record!
  8. Here's a picture of mine. The small stamp looks like it says "music city". There is also a number scratched in the deadwax which is "S - 826". There are a couple of other very small markings/stamps. I think this is another one of those different pressing plant variations. Looks OK to me.
  9. I may be imagining it, but was the dance floor at the Stars & Stripes some sort of plastic tiles ??
  10. There's also a 7" Mini-LP with a picture cover. The picture is the same as the LP and the record has a small hole like UK records.
  11. I've bought a few things and always been pleased and happy that they were in top condition even when described as VG. While I wouldn't class myself as fussy as I don't mind something that has had "a bit of a life", I do expect to get what's described at the very least. CS has always under- promised and over delivered. With regard to the bidder who seems to be on lot's of the items, the picture is as below. Sometimes folks send records to certain dealers to sell on their behalf. The original owner owner could be tempted to fire in a few bids which the dealer listing would not have been directly responsible for. I'm not saying that is the case here....(45 bid retractions !!!). Some folks just like certain dealers. 12. I've always thought the Jimmy Webb was the same as J. Webb who wrote Shane Martin's "I Need You". Jim Webb also released his version. I may be wrong and would be happy to be corrected.

  14. I've always thought it sounded a bit like Carl Carlton when he sang "Competition....". Not saying it is him, but possibly a young singer.
  15. Here's a scan of my copy that I bought from Max in about 1977/78 with the card sleeve with his writing on. It was in one of those box's that we had all picked over time and time again and had been left behind after he'd sold the bulk of his stuff. He'd played it at the Cat's ! It still has a little tape residue around the run-out from where the label was covered up.
  16. Also, here's an Argentinian Larry Santos ! The thing with some of the South American singles is that they are 33 rpm which looks weird when they're playing
  17. Following on from the current "Night" thread and the Australian copy above, here's a Dutch copy on Rare Earth..
  18. On one of visit, possibly late 1977/early 1978, a mate and I got there very early and I remember seeing one of those fluro-orange posters outside advertising Billy Butler as a guest
  19. Here's one with MONO printed on the "Send ...." side and the other side is "Destination..." https://www.popsike.com/1972-Northern-Soul-45-POINTER-SISTERS-Send-Him-Back-ATLANTIC-2893-Mono-Orig-VG/381877359239.html Hope that helps
  20. Interesting to see that Roger Daltrey is to release an album which includes a cover of Garnet Mims - As long As I have You. He was on Chris Evans breakfast show this week to promote it. Prefer Garnet studio version personally ! I'm not sure what else will be included
  21. Here's a print of the page Kev Bod Chubby Checker You Don't Know ( What You Do To Me Girl ) / Two Hearts Make One Love Cameo Parkway : P 965 DJ Artist: Chubby Checker A Side: You Don't Know ( What You Do To Me Girl ) B Side: Two Hearts Make One Love Label: Cameo Parkway Format: 45s Condition Vinyl Condition:M- Label Condition:M- Sleeve Condition:M- Key: View Help £1,283.00 £1.00 £11.00 14/03/2018 18:00 This auction has ended. A spectacular copy of Britain's "Most Wanted", I cannot imagine we'll ever be able to offer a finer copy. This one is truly immaculate, surely a crowning moment for all UK Soul collections. Remembering this Northern Soul classic was never issued in the USA and to make things even more challenging for the serious NS hunter. In the USA it was only promo'd as a styrene DJ copy in California & a solitary vinyl test-press file copy for the Cameo archives on the East Coast (only 1 copy known) So when a flawless Brit-legend surfaces in invincible condition as the legendary misspelled title "You Don't Know ( What You Do To Me Girl )" omitting the "Just" from the title; it is a listing every dedicated Northern Soul will sit up and notice. A Northern Soul anthem, in it's most desirable, most durable most spectacular form. Do not pass by, opportunities like this to acquire near perfection of an iconic 45, do not present themselves much more than once in a lifetime. You really "Just Don't Know" when you'll see another" For NS historical reference, this Northern Soul anthem was first discovered by Brian Tompkins who ran the "George" at Wilby near Wellingborough and also the legendary "Bletsoe" allnighter, a once sleepy village in Bedfordshire. Glen Ballamy was the first DJ to play It at Bletsoe circa 1970 -72. Condition Report This 45 is in knee-trembling condition! As near perfection as you could ever dream of owning. An irresistible Mint - / Mint - throughout. A Side Title: You Don't Know ( What You Do To Me Girl ) B Side Title: Two Hearts Make One Love Year: 1965 City: United Kingdom
