Hope to see some of you there. It's likely that I'll be taking the cash on the door, so please say hello.

    Thanks for your reply.

Sounds great, so we'll be attending and we'll let our friends know too

    Cheers

We look forward to seeing you. It really is a great venue (I know EVERYBODY says that about their event!!). Smart and clean with an "in-house" speaker system. Also, the venue provide a Sound Engineer. He sits at the back with a mixing desk to keep things as they should be. Here's a photo of things being set up prior to opening time.

    Hi.

Is this event across the broad with rare and underplayed too from the 60's?

    TIA

Hi, thanks for considering our event. With regard to music policy, the intention is for the Djs selected to play a WIDE range of styles. This is in the "spirit" of Lea Manor.

So, there will be "Rare and Under Played" 60's tunes. I'm sure all the DJs, and particularly Andy Dennison Ted Massey @Ted Massey have the experience and records to fit the bill.

A few "Oldies" may be played, but not the tired, "same old, same old".

So, it's "Yes" to Crossover, 60's, Rare and "Rarely Played" and loads of other categories. But it wont be a night full of oldies.

Kev Spittle records the sets "live" and posts them on his Mixcloud account. Most of the DJ sets to date have been posted which you can check out. Feel free to give my set from March a pass as I did include more oldies, but this was just get things going!! Here's Arthur Fenn's set from March 2024

  5. I've had the following update from Kev S: -

Just over a week to Lea Manor The Renaissance and things are all coming together. All the DJs are confirmed and ready. We're looking forward to catching up with Ted Massey, and Andy Dennison, and listening to what they have to bring to the decks for your enjoyment. Listened to Natalie Nicholls, a few times of late and she always brings something different. Mr + Mrs Wood, its been a while, but always a pleasure to catch up and listen to you both, be great to have you both back behind the decks..

You can still take advantage of the £7.00 advanced purchase. It's £8 on the night. Fantastic dance floor and sound system as usual at this fantastic, smart venue.

    Regards, the Renaissance Team

  6. Hi All,

We have just been contacted by the venue. Apparently, part of the roof has given way/collapsed and rain has been coming in.

Therefore, they have cancelled the event as repairs cannot be guaranteed to be completed prior to the 20th.

Please accept our apologies. We were all looking forward to another night at the Town Hall.

We are looking at an alternative date to fit in prior to the October event already in the diary and on the Soul Source event calendar.

    Thanks for your understanding.

  8. Hi, I've just spoken to Kev S and we've agreed the last date to purchase tickets and have them POSTED OUT to your home will be this Friday, 22nd March 2024.

You can still contact me to buy tickets after that and we will hold them on the door.

    All the best,

  9. If you're planning out your Bank Holiday adventures, have a think about including us!!

Playing your past, present and future favorites.

As I had COVID for most of February, I've had plenty of time to sort through the record boxes and come up with a few unexpected gems. It'll be chance to have a play about before the adults start!

    See you there.

  10. Just a reminder, you can message me to purchase tickets. They can either be posted out or reserved on the door. Please don't forget to include your address in the message if you want them posted.

    Cheers,

  11. For those of you who attended our first event at Bilston, here we go for Round 2.

If you’re planning your nights out in March, give this a try. It will certainly freshen up your diary as a break from the usual treadmill of events. As they say “if you always do what you’ve done, you’ll always get what you’ve got”. In some cases that can be good but sometimes, just sometimes, it can feel like “Groundhog Day”!!

This is a TOP QUALITY venue, genuinely outstanding. It’s clean and friendly with a cracking Built-In sound system. There’s loads of convenient parking in and around the venue. As you approach, you get that tingle as the muffled sounds start to come into focus. Through the doors, up the stairs and the night starts.

The sounds you’ll hear will cover a wide range of styles and era’s. You will be certain to hear some much loved favorites, you'll be reminded of forgotten gems  and no doubt add to that list as the DJ’s selected produce a little bit of MAGIC!

    Hope to see you there.

  12. Tickets now available. Please PM with your address and to request payment details.

You can either have the tickets posted out or reserved on the door. Your choice.

Hope you can pop over to see us!!
