  1. Hi, I've loads of Goldmine, a few Stardust, and assorted 70s bootlegs. What sort of price were you looking to pay? Please PM me. Cheers John
  2. Up here in Sheffield the local BBC Radio Sheffield started a weekly experimental Soul show about 3 years ago with DJ Steve White. Over the months the amount of commercial stufff has fallen sharply as more and more Soulies caught on and started sending in requests. They also do a detailed 'Whats-On' diary to spread news of local Soul Nights, Weekenders and so on. It is now available on-line, and co-hosted with BBC Radio Leeds, and has recently joined with BBC Humberside, York and Lincoln to do the very first Radio Station All-Nighter. That's the power of Soul and the people who love it. Keep at it and good luck. John (Sheffield)
  3. Hi Scott, it was a pleasure to have you join us for a while. I'm glad Elliott's idea and efforts made so much cash. Brilliant stuff, and thanks to all who donated and made it so worthwhile. All the best John Moffatt (Darnall Horti, Sheffield)
  4. Done - with pleasure!
  5. Buy us a pint at t'next Kay Gee Bee and we'll discuss it !
  6. Of course he does, otherwise t'coal gets all wet!
  7. Totaly agree with previous comments. We run the Washington in Sheffield between the Horse & Groom bimonthly events, and they work very well too. We get around 50 or so regularly. There's no charge, the DJs play what they want and the atmosphere is generally laid back with the odd skirmish on the dancefloor if anybody feels like it. Interestingly, the Washington would otherwise be closed on a Sunday afternoon, so the owners are well chuffed with us. There are no losers, it seems. The problem with Sundays is that most people work Monday, so staying out till midnight or whatever isn't an option. We have found that an 8.00pm close suits most of our people very well. We could extend, but I don't think there's the demand. Cheers John
  8. Eyup Andy, be nice to come and have a browse again - not buy anything, just browse . Not a bad location, near the Frog & Parrot, and Washington, and a few other watering holes. That could be a day out all on its own . Sithee soon John
  9. Good of you to offer Pete, thanks very much. Trouble is, I've no idea which ones. Can I take you up on it in a while when I've had a think and a good look? Thanks, John
  10. That's an awesome list Pete. Might be time for some concentrated research. Thanks a lot. John
  11. Sounds reasonable Chalky. Motown were ahead of the time when it came to multi-tracking and such. Some of the instrumentals, and acapellas, would have made great flip sides. John
  12. Certainly is! One for the vinyl cutters maybe? I can't see anyone letting me plug my MP3 player into the mixer somehow.
  13. To all who contributed, thanks very much indeed. I knew you lot out there would answer my question. Particularly grateful to those who posted clips. All the best, John
  14. Please PM me if you know. I'm told it's an LP track. Thanks in advance. John To all who contributed, thanks very much indeed. I knew you lot out there would answer my question. Particularly grateful to those who posted clips. All the best, John
  15. I'm looking for a couple of dozen or so totally useless coloured vinyl 45s (pure bin fodder) to use in a backlit display. The condition, style, artist, label etc., etc., are of no importance at all. Quite happy, of course, to fund shipping cost. Please PM me if you have any such junk lying around that you just want to get rid of. Thanks, John
  16. Hi, if anyone has a copy for sale, please PM me. Thanks, John

  22. Thanks for this mate. If it's legal I'm ok with it. I didn't want to think I'd got an out-and-out bootleg. ATB, John
