From the album: Horti and Rondevu soulclubs

    Hes still not gone!
  2. Somebody did well there.
  3. It's been suggested to me by someone I know who has a real one is that the number scratched in the deadwax of the boot is In-6311, and In 6311 on a real one. There's some good info in JM's bootleg guide as well. Never released on Demo.
  4. No chance of getting over to Chicago. Is there any possibility that this show might be recorded and posted on the internet later?
  5. So, £216 on John Manship's auction. Anyone got anything rational to add? It's a great two-sider, but.....
  6. I gave mine away a couple of years ago when it was fetching about a fiver. It wasn't worth the hassle of listing it. There were already 5 or 6 on Ebay alone!
  7. A few Motown singles to move, £5 each. Postage £2 in UK. Postage abroad can be worked out. All VG+ or better. Full refund if not happy with condition. Paypal preferred. Please send me a PM if interested. Thanks for looking. John. 8. This is a very good version. Not quite what I expect from Santana, a band I've always liked. Maybe not quite the Impressions, but that's a pretty high bar to overcome anyway.
  9. I'm regularly asked at my post office what the package contains, and they've never mentioned that records are exempt from their £500 insurance cover. In fact, they've recommended it. How confusing is that?
  10. Thanks Pete, thanks Chalky. Missed the earlier topic. Appreciated.
  11. Hi all, this may have been done before. If so, please bear with me. I've been listening to clips of Love On A Lease Plan by these two artists and, frankly, I can't spot any difference between them. I don't have the most trained of ears, so can anyone shed any light on this please? Cheers John
  12. Hi Headsy, sent you a PM. Cheers John
  13. Ok, still got this, so anyone want to make a reasonable offer? Just the one rarety, in strong VG+ condition. A few light scuffs, nothing to worry about. Labels are unmarked. Price includes registered postage in Uk. Europe, add £5, ROW add £10 for Airsure. Money back if not happy with condition. DON RAY - BORN A LOSER on RCA Victor 47-9438 Yellow Demo. £160 - Paypal (F&F) preferred. Please send me a PM if interested. Cheers John.
  14. Always had something interesting and informative to add to any post. His shows were brilliant, different and educational. Chicago soul, and a lot more. RIP

  16. What are the upcoming dates for the Olde Spa please? Please send me a PM. Thanks.
  17. More nonsense that is slowly degrading the soul scene.
  18. Haha, ok point made. Thanks for the info on JT. To be honest, when I read your first piece it didn't click who you were. I don't think we've ever communicated before. I've not seen Tim in years, so I think I'll leave well alone. ATB John
  19. Clearly, though I never assumed, I have been assured, many times. So any idea which ones were legit?
  20. This is very interesting. I've had this on a Goldmine demo for many years, but never played it out as I was assured that ALL Goldmine releases were bootlegs. If this is legit, then it meets OVO requirements, yes? Any info much appreciated. John
  21. Personally, I like this record, though it's been severely overplayed (bootlegs!!!), but mine cost me about what you suggest, £60 or so, and it's NM.
  22. Honest question, not a dig, is this really fetching this sort of money nowadays? Note the visual condition as VG-. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOBBY-DAY-Rare-N-Soul-BUZZ-BUZZ-BUZZ-PRETTY-LITTLE-GIRL-NEXT-DOOR-1963-RCA-/360503168043?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item53efa9cc2b
  23. Hi all, confusion - I've just purchased a demo of this by Big Maybelle (Savoy 1512), and it's a different recording altogether. It is much slower, and although the words seem right, you'd never know it was the same as Chuck or the song posted earlier in this piece. Anyone know the story? Cheers John I've just found this on a London release, but this is the song, still on Savoy 45-1512.
