Somehow or other, I have missed all this about John. I am totally shocked and very, very sad to hear he died, and even more upset that I missed his funeral. He was the one who persuaded me, many, many years ago, that R&B was the way to go, and that rare and brilliant records need not be expensive. He was down to earth, straightforward and more than a bit stubborn, and I admired him for all that. I met him a couple of times, but had many, many very interesting phone conversations with him, the last of which could only have been days before he eventually passed away, when we actually arranged to go up and see him in July. That, of course, will now never happen. I will find something suitable for the R&B room in Bridlington this weekend. Thank you John for the privilege of knowing you. John Moffatt

So, the box set that came out last year is not an official release?
-
It appears the messages have had their effect. The sale listing has an additional message.
-
I have also advised him of the concerns, and suggested he add a comment about the record's (possible ) lack of authenticity. I'll see what comes back.
-
Asked about the flip-side, got this response. Hello, thank you for your email. the other side is called "as long as there is you" Best wishes Willow Does that tell anyone anything?
-
Has anyone actually messaged the seller with this? A bit of further self-incrimination might be interesting.
-
Yet another one. We'll all be joining them before too long, wherever that is.
-
Noticed there's an extra $200 in postage and import charges (to the UK) to add to the $709 price. That's around £600 and still rising.

RIP Melv.

Hi all, looking for a copy of the above on its original BASHIE label. Must be at least strong VG+. I know there are one or two on some well-known sites for exorbitant amounts. I'm not interested in being ripped off. Thanks a lot John

John Moffatt replied to Wiganer1's topic in Record Wants
Just for information - if you mean 'Walk Out The Door If You Wanna', mine was £20 + P&P about 6 months ago, so that's your guide price, but I don't actually want to sell it at the moment. -
This is being played everywhere round my neck of the woods. It's great pop song, but is it soul???? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKhSuE5QCkk
