All the bids are (private listing - bidders' identities protected ) including wining bid and this was for the intersection single as well,is this the seller hoping someone jumps in or what ? can't be coincident. Andy
I just had a record not arrive after a while got a refund, however the a few days later the seller put it back on ebay.
Not too happy and couldn't be assed to bid again, still waiting for something from Spain which is getting late hopefully its a seasonal thing.
Mine were Roy Hamilton UK Demo "The panic is on" about 80p and Acetate of a one off version of the Drifter for about a pound in a record fair in a church hall in Kingston Upon Thames. Also around that time bought the Drifters "Pour your little heart out" for 30p in a pop up shop which had just loads of 7ts Demos which must of been radio station stock.
For all these I still get nightmare of what I have left behind especially with today's prices.
Andy
Why does Jackie Beavers have the writing credits on "I Never found a girl" its surely a Eddie Floyd penned record anyone got any ideas or have I got it all wrong?
With wood glue put it on thick and over the edges this will enable you to peel it off,I don't think it makes that much difference imho.
I wash mine using a paint pad which cost about 45p.

Any body know if this is still covered up ? another excellent Cliff Steel spin
Girl, I've Changed Johnny Gilliam & The Headlines Creative Soul C/U
Cheers Andy
Personally I have been into the soul scene for well over 30 years and have no interest in a film about Wigan. There has been a play, documentary and a film enough is enough I am afraid IMHO.
As Hitler apparently once said " F*ck Wigan and those f*cking Wigan Clowns"
JM is now a international brand for rare records whether you like it or not,if you go to a auction in Chelsea to buy a table you pay more than same table in a auction in Mansfield that's the way its goes .
Also the auctions on JM site the time will extend to give the bider a chance to counter bid ,this really extends the money being spent until the bidders really go to their limits or even go on pass what they set , therefore the auction is set up for people to over spend.
The real trouble is for me is not the prices spent at this auction but the people who will actually put a value on these records after according to the final auction price. (IMHO)
There are plenty of good records that don't get played due to a little bit of snobbery. The whole scene suffers from it at the moment, with two types of records the old established classics or the extremely rare regardless of quality.
I believe that a lot of DJs just won't play a number of records in a set if they are cheapish which just makes the quantity of records you can to hear when out a lot smaller and therefore dos can be a little boring in my opinion.I have found more new tunes to my ears on internet than at dos(which may be a obvious)
A few this year I have bought all under a tenner from ebay don't mind hearing any of these when out:
Jesse James - I Know I'll Never Find Another One
Walter Scott - Brand new girl
Tim - I Need Your Love
Brother of Love - My Hearts in Trouble
Johnny Okera Hightower - You're The One
Harlem River Drive - Need You -
Funny how R&B which to me sound too near Rock and Roll (no harmonies )is excepted on an oldies/local night.
But mention a little funky soul (unless its the crow) and they light torches and grab pitch forks and its "quick to the windmill"
Records nominations are the Virbrations - Cause your mine and Jackie Wilson's -Because of you
Yourself and Chalky hit the nail on the head, the scene full of the same old oldies. We could have crossover ,funky soul, sweet /low rider, album tracks, underplayed 6ts,7ts,8ts but no its 95% same old top 500 and a bit of Drizabone for the old ladies.
Life line and Va Va do a good job but very little else worth going to to hear something new.
