  2. Anyone? I need to shift this. $700 OBO.
  3. For some reason, the auction was ended. Seller got cold feet or got an offer they couldn't refuse? It sounds like a great lot to have a go at.
  4. Here are photos of the labels. Clips available. Cheers..
  5. Hello, I have a copy of Gangbusters - Just Want You To Know w/Alone on North Country Records for offer. The labels are clean without writing. The A side is VG+, while the B side is VG to VG+. If you're interested, please send a PM. I can add clips if there's an interest. Cheers.
  6. I saw it as a preview in the States three weeks ago. It's very well done. I enjoyed it, but too wondered why there was a need to keep jumping back and forth in the history, but I talked to another mate of mine who says that's fairly common in biopics these days. The performances are amazing, the acting is quite good, and I learned a bit about JB that I didn't know. I recommend it. Cheers.
  7. And, if you're in Allentown, avoid The Count.
  8. Howard Tate's I Learned It The Hard Way on Verve. Top-shelf production, top-shelf songs!
  9. If someone would put out other Ric-Tic and Golden World (legitimately) on CD, that would be great. Oh yes, a compilation of soul and funky tracks from Le Cam would be ace!
  10. I would love this on CD simply for ease to transfer to the cloud where I keep music on my phone and tablet. Cheers.
  11. I second Vinyl Flat. I had a 50s R&B Excello 45 with a severe dish warp. I have a friend that has one. It took four times in the heating pouch (maybe 8+ hours), but it's completely flat now and plays great!
  12. It may sound strange, but there are several days when I walk downstairs past the massive pile of boxes of soul 45s and soul LPs and think some combination of things. -Wow, what a great stack of records I own! -When am I going to have time to listen to them? Maybe in 10 years after the kids go off to university? -Why do I have all these records when we need to do some updates to the house and I'd rather pay both car payments off? One of my kids asked if we could go on a holiday this year. For a lot of reasons (money mostly), we can't. That's when I walk past the collection and feel guilty.
  13. I have been aiming to keep the condition of records high as I build my collection so that if I ever decide to sell anything, that it'll be easier to sell records in better condition. However, it seems like I'm getting close to the point where the records I would have an interest are beyond my budget and therefore out of my reach, and they're likely rare enough that I won't find them in good condition either. There are times it seems that it would make sense to sell off the records, as it would free up money to do a lot of things around the house that would be nice to do, plus it's hard to find time to listen to them.
  14. I'm going with a friend to see this tonight (it's out in the States 1 August, so it's a preview). Will report back on if it's good!
  15. @Swifty, What I have been doing is culling out some of the VG and lower soul 45s out of my collection. I listed some on eBay at first, and a bunch didn't sell, but some did. I had a second round that had the same result. I took about 100 records and shifted them over to Discogs. I had several that sold for what I tried to get for a minimum bid, but some that sold so far went for twice or better what they were bringing on eBay. Regardless of the price I list them on Discogs, I also accept offers. I would say 90% buy at the listed price, which is great! I had a bunch of traffic the first week, but this last week was slower, but just had a chap buy three records today. It suits my schedule (and my wallet!) to sell on Discogs -- I was doing okay on eBay a couple of years ago, but it just dried up. Just trying to shift some bits to get more records. Cheers.
  16. I just moved my listings over to Discogs -- too many records sold for a minimum bid or not at all.
  17. Ugh, can't watch due to regional blocking outside the UK.
  18. Dana Valery on hold. Tommy Navarro reduced to $300 US + $55 express mail. Must sell to meet an upcoming bill. Cheers.
  19. It is with a great deal of reluctance that I need to offer these two prized 45s from my personal collection. Money is short, so needs dictate what happens sometimes. Dana Valery You Don't Know Where Your Interest Lies w/Having You Around Columbia 4-44404 promo VG+ labels with date stamp, faint ring wear and "rock" written on A side label. The 45 visually grades a solid VG+ with faint marks in the non-music inner part of A. $500 US Tommy Navarro I Cried My Life Away w/Club Of Broken Hearts De Jac 1253 with red and blue lettering Bell Sound etched in dead wax The 45 is VG to VG+, very close to VG+. $400 US I will ship these express mail only due to value so they can be tracked by both parties. $55 US shipping via express. If you could pay the fees, that would be brilliant.
  20. Not again! I was fortunate to get the first set in London in December and got it back to the States and no issues with any of the records. I thought they had it sorted this time. Pity.
  21. I'm an uber-picky collector, so these details are important to me, so I assume others would find them important as well. It's getting harder to find M- or VG+ soul 45s, but they do crop up on occasion! Cheers.
  22. For all of my 45s, I have a container of dish soap that I put a chamois cloth into (and squeeze out excess water) and use a dry one to dry off. It works well for me and is fast. I use my VPI cleaner for albums, but I do have the adapter kit for 45s.
  23. Whenever I put records for sale, I grade both the label and both sides of the record.
