  1. Just a few thoughts from someone from the States who went from 0 to 4000 soul 45s in 3 years.... I'm still pretty new to the soul scene. It's been only about 4 years for me. I buy and sell records online and have grabbed bits that have interested me that were in top-whack condition, or am keeping a rarer record in the hopes I'll find a better copy. Right when I first started collecting, I realized that I just don't have the dosh for the big-ticket 45s. I've found tons of records that hit the spot for me that are mostly under $50. I could never justify keeping some of the rare soul 45s that have passed through my hands. I've had the Second Resurrection 45 in my hands but decided I couldn't keep it. I've been buying up originals, trading when I can, and it really comes down to being in the right place at the right time. I went to a record fair in May and found a chap that had added 4-5 150-count 45 boxes of new old stock. There was nothing incredibly rare there, but lots of records people would love to hear played out or that I enjoy. I've found that, as others have echoed here, that some of the best records I've heard are the most common, but they hit the spot. Cheers, Tim
  2. Dobie Gray "The In Crowd" or Edwin Starr "25 Miles."
  3. I have the Tamla US pressing of this and have heard it loads of times. As I've been digging through 45s on back shelves, etc., I found a Tamla Motown Canadian pressing of this track, put it on and was surprised to hear quite a different version. Can anyone shed some light on this one? Many thanks!
  4. I Dig Your Act from the O'Jays seems to get 'em moving!
  5. If I had a time machine, I'd go back to the point they were going to destroy the Frank Wilson "Do I Love You" 45s and grab them!
  6. Godzilla, No offense implied! I'm sure it was out in many other countries. The reason I ask is for DJing out, as I would want to play the US original if there was one, or if the UK was the original, to play that. Was there a Japan press just out of curiosity? Cheers!
  7. Hello Everyone, Was there ever a US pressing for Frankie Valli's The Night? I have done a bit of digging online but only see reference to the UK pressing (which I think I have a copy of, but will have to dig in my boxes). Let me know. Cheers! Tim
  8. Good morning everyone, Please find attached a text file with a list of 150 Northern Soul, 60s soul, 70s soul and other soul 45s, all originals (no reissues). They're all priced individually, but prices are negotiable. Condition does vary from record to record, but these are clean, playable 45s ranging from M- to EX- to VG+ to VG to VG+. I can let you know the condition of the particular record you're interested in. The records range from $10-$20 each. Thank you so much, and PM with any questions. Cheers, Tim Soul 45 List.txt
  9. @garethx If you're talking about the Sweet Music 45, I've been after this 45 for quite a while. I had one but sold it on and immediately regretted it.

  12. I was going to suggest telling the record you're hungry, but that just shows it's time to go to lunch. Seriously, I have a few of these around the house. I have been told putting it under a pile of heavy books may help, but haven't had time to give it a go.
  13. Hello Everyone, I've got a nice selection of 45s to offer. I have thousands more, but this is a start. All 45s have been cleaned with a soft cloth to remove dust and dirt. 14. Hello All, This is THE record that stuck with me throughout SoulTrip Orlando. I only heard it 2-3 times, but it became the song that is now a higher want. What's it going for these days? Cheers, Tim
  15. Any chance of a future one in fall? Flights from the States are prohibitive in the summer.
  16. Hi Everyone, I actually hadn't heard this one before, but I had heard other 45s from him. I was going through 45s and found an absolute hammered promo that played okay, went through another box and found a mint stock copy, so I'll put the promo out for sale. Cheers!
  17. Hello Everyone, Does Sonny Charles Half As Much get any play out these days? I love most of the song, but the break is sort of iffy for me. Thanks!

  19. This is regionally restricted for US viewers. Ugh. I really wanted to watch this.
  20. Hi Everyone, I've got a couple of tasty 45s on offer this week -- one Northern Soul crossover, one rare modern soul 45. Both have been play graded with headphones. Both would have to be sent express mail at $30, as this is the only trackable method offered from the US Post Office. The first is Ref-O-Ree 712 - Fred Waters - Don't Let It Get You Down, Boy w/The Winnin' Horse. Labels are in VG condition. The yellow in the label is wearing off a bit on both sides, but the titles are clearly visible. The 45 visually grades VG overall, but the A side is a bit higher than that and plays better than the B side. The 45 plays between VG and VG on A (it is crackly), but still clear vocals and music, and it does play loud. The sound improves as the sound progresses. The B side plays VG and plays crackly (it doesn't play as well as the A side), but there are still pretty clear music and vocals. $250 The second is Blue Candle 1519 - Freak - Life Goes On w/That's What Time It Is. Labels are in EX- condition. The 45 visually grades EX-/VG+ with some faint marks that don't affect play. The 45 plays M- to EX- with loud, clear play. $175 I look forward to hearing from you! Many thanks, Tim
  21. I've got 2 dozen-plus black gospel soul 45s from a lot of obscure labels. Please feel free send offers via PM.
