  1. Just a quick update: I have a copy reserved for Flannie, JNixon and Tiggerwoods, but other than that, all of the copies are claimed. Thanks so much, everyone, and enjoy your 45s! Cheers.
  2. Hello everyone, Thanks so much for the interest in the Johnny Adams 45. I have set aside the 45s for those who have paid via PayPal and reserved copies for the 5 other people that are sorting payment out. I have one single copy left and then they're all gone. Copy #9: The labels are in VG condition with wear on the A label. There is a spot in the upper right where the label is worn down (I can send a picture upon request to explain). The labels are in VG to VG+ on B with storage wear. The 45 visually grades VG+. I have played all of these 45s once. Even the VG+ 45s play M-/EX- with loud, clear play and sound great. Thanks so much for your interest. Cheers!
  3. Many thanks to those who have reserved a copy, and thank you to those who have been making queries and who are working on reserving a copy of this. For those that are sending payment, please indicate in your payment which copy you reserved so I get the one you want set aside. I have notes for who wants which one, but it will keep the confusion down. Thanks again!
  4. Hello everyone, Copies 1, 2 and 10 have been reserved. All of the copies of this record are all records that play M-/EX- with loud, clear play. I set aside one for my play box. The only difference between any is some have a bit more storage wear than others. The 2 copies that are VG+ are just barely VG+. Many thanks!
  5. Copy 10 is reserved, but other copies can be reserved. Cheers!
  6. Hello Everyone, I was having a rummage downstairs and found 10 copies of Johnny Adams - You're A Bad Habit Baby. This is good timing, as I need to pay my tax bill this week, so I'm hoping this record will hit the spot for you as much as it does for me and is a record you need to add to your collection. I have only play graded a couple of these, but the records are really clean and play M-/EX- with loud, clear play and sound great. I will send any one of these to you first class mail international included in the price. Interested in all ten? Make me a reasonable offer and the lot could be yours. If you're interested in all ten, I would have to send them express mail international, which would run $30 so they're trackable. I'd be willing to share the cost of this with you. If you'd like a copy of this, please let me know which number one you'd like and I'll reserve it for you. I can accept PayPal at olympian90@aol.com Copy #1: The labels are in VG+ condition with edge wear and visually grades EX-/VG+. Copy #2: The labels are in VG+ condition with light edge wear and visually grades EX-/VG+. Copy #3: The labels are in VG+ condition with wear on the edges and bottom of the label. The 45 visually grades VG+. Copy #4: The labels are in VG to VG+ condition with edge wear. The 45 visually grades EX-/VG+. Copy #5: The labels are in VG to VG+ condition with edge wear. The 45 visually grades VG+. Copy #6: The labels are in VG to VG+ condition with edge wear. The 45 visually grades EX-/VG+. Copy #7: The labels are in VG to VG+ condition with wear on the top of the labels. The 45 visually grades EX-/VG+. Copy #8: The labels are in VG to VG+ condtion with wear on the edges and top. Thanks so much, and I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers.
  7. I've heard stories of people coming up to some dealers at shows and asking if they have soul 45s, to which they get a response like: "I have all sorts of those in the basement. You want that s*it?" That's about the time you say, "Yes I do. How about a tenner for the lot?"
  8. Pete, The people who do that are only hurting themselves. The ones that boggle the mind are the ones listing soul 45s that won't ship outside the States. Apparently they don't have any idea where the most demand is.
  9. Hello, I've got 2 copies of Johnny Adams "You're A Bad Habit Baby" w/"Born To Love You" on SSS International Records, SSS-870. I have attached a link to the A side and B side labels of one of the copies. Copy #1: The labels are in VG+ condition with ring wear on A and rubbing of the label on B. The 45 visually grades VG+. Unfortunately, you can see a very faint outline on the A side where I wrote a note on the sleeve. It plays M-/EX- all the way through with loud, clear play. Copy #2: The labels are in similar condition to copy 1 & 2. The 45 visually grades very close to EX-. Unfortunately, you can see a very faint outline on the A side where I wrote a note on the sleeve. It plays M-/EX- all the way through with loud, clear play. Many thanks! Tim
  10. Pete, not all of the US sellers are like this.
  11. I've actually sold two records that I regret selling not because they're rare, but I realized I really like them. One is George Carrow Angel Baby red label stock. I have had the chance to buy it again, but cash is tight. The other is Christopher Cerf's Sweet Music. I've seen it once since I sold it, but it is priced at about $100, which is out of my budget. Oh well, that's the way it goes.
  12. As someone that's still pretty new to the soul scene (January 2008), I need to make it a high priority to get to Manchester for sure this year so I can experience The Wheel in person.
  13. It sounds great, but I have a question. Why, oh, why do I hear drum machines? I don't understand how you can say you're using all-real instrumentation with drum machines?
  14. Anyone? Okay, anyone interested at $75 each OBO? Cheers.
  15. Hello, I've got 3 copies of Johnny Adams "You're A Bad Habit Baby" w/"Born To Love You" on SSS International Records, SSS-870. Unfortunately, you can see a very faint outline on the A side where I wrote a note on the sleeve. It plays M-/EX- all the way through with loud, clear play. Copy #2: The labels are in similar condition to copy 1, but with some light dirt on the 45. The 45 visually grades EX-/VG+. Unfortunately, you can see a very faint outline on the A side where I wrote a note on the sleeve. It plays M-/EX- all the way through with loud, clear play. Copy #3: The labels are in similar condition to copy 1 & 2. The 45 visually grades very close to EX-. Unfortunately, you can see a very faint outline on the A side where I wrote a note on the sleeve. It plays M-/EX- all the way through with loud, clear play. Sorry for the slightly tilted photos. Postage would be $8.70 from the US for first class mail international (no tracking available - only available through express, which is $30). Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers.
  16. At Soultrip Orlando, I had the chance to meet Spyder Turner and chat (top chap!), sitting with Frankie Gearing, and meeting Jock Mitchell. This last Saturday, I had the chance to see (and was blown away) by Mickey Murray. I got 2 LPs signed plus got some photos with him.
  17. Hi Everyone, Someone on Facebook tipped me to this. This is an 11-minute French documentary shot in black and white that tours Fame and Stax Studios in 1969. The narration is all in French, but features Brook Benton singing in the studio, Booker T. and the MG's and the Mar-Keys. I've never seen this before. Fascinating stuff. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.c...&v=amo2PQKHmq4#!
  18. We'll miss you, Etta. Thanks for the great music you left us. We'll be sure to dedicate a pair or trio of our favorite 45s tonight at Twin Cities Soul.

  21. December 2007 I began a rummage through an unpicked collection of 45s from central Texas, found that copy of The Demures' Raining Teardrops and tons of others. Northern Soul found me, and it's been an amazing experience since then!
  22. Thanks so much for letting us know about it. Just listened to a few tracks and am really impressed!
  23. There's a short, but interesting, 18-minute documentary about Howard Tate online. You can see it at: Enjoy!
