  1. Wow, After many years of delays, it looks like 12A is coming out on 11 June! https://www.spincds.com/complete-motown-singles-vol-12a-1972-5cd-box-set
  2. Numero Group has a CD and (possibly) vinyl compilation coming out soon for this label.
  3. Finally watched the rest of this today. William Bell was outstanding!
  4. I know a guy in our area that sells records at record shows who prices every record he puts out according to the Goldmine price guide, regardless of condition, then takes 50% off of that price. How generous! I know several record dealers in my area that price everything they sell based on the Goldmine guide.
  5. I thought Justin's performance was much better than I anticipated!
  6. This was broadcast last night on PBS and has a good helping of Memphis Soul (and one unfortunate helping of Justin Timberlake). https://video.pbs.org/video/2364996259
  7. Oops. I am wondering if someone in the UK going to Revord Store Day could buy me a copy and post it to me if I cover the record, postage and the mailer. Cheers.
  8. Hello, In addition to soul, I also collect some British indie 45s. A Manchester band, Inspiral Carpets, are putting out a 7"/45 for Record Store Day in the UK limited to just 500. I am wondering
  9. I have I Can't Stop Lovin' My Baby on Loma and think it's the business! I had a chance to pick up the Loma LP a few months ago from a chap but was short of cash and didn't. Is the LP good as well?
  10. @DaveD, I bought it last week. It's excellent. You Put The Flame On It is the standout track, however.
  11. I'll take a look at the deadwax. It's not Leo and The Duets (it's a female singer on the 45) and not Patti LaBelle. I've actually got 3 records I can't read the info on, so maybe I'll post the info on the trio. Cheers.
  12. Hello, I was rummaging through my storage and found a faded label 45 for a black gospel record called Down The Aisle. Anyone can help with artist/title/catalog number? Cheers.
  13. @Big Gordy, what dimensions are those clear plastic boxes you've got the 45s in? There are lots of great options for storing LPs, but I'd love to see someone come up with a 45 storage system with wheels on it where I could put a whole 150-count box in. Problem is, it'd be pretty heavy.
  14. Not soul, but I bought 50,000 45s in 2008 for $8,700 all in including shipping and all travel expenses and sold one 1953 Sun blues 45 for $10,323. Result!
  15. I would like to sell the entire grouping. Since it is from a jukebox route, there will be multiples of some titles.
  16. Hello, I purchased a massive collection of 45s from a New Orleans jukebox route in 2008 and will be finished sorting thru it this month/early April. There are 13,000 45s so far, and will be some more as I sort through the rest and should be over 15,000 or more by then. I have sorted out reissue/budget reissue 45s. I have also sub sorted records that are more valuable, and they would be included. Condition varies, but there are new old stock 45s. Good mix of 60s/70s, with some 80s. The 45s are in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Currently open to offers. Please get in touch. Thank you.
  17. I host a record fair in the States and get many calls a year with people wanting to sell collections. Some amazing, some crap. There are a lot of good records out there, but there are a lot of easy listening, big band and other stuff people have that are amazed when you tell them they're only worth donating. I'm sure there are people out there that say vinyl is making a comeback and that they think they're sitting on a goldmine. Good luck to them. I'm not sure if it's this way in the UK/Europe/elsewhere, but for years and years, 50s rock doesn't sell. I don't touch it. There are a few pockets of places where there is a demand, but not much.
  18. Ian, Not a bad price on Amazon for the set. I would think you'd be hard pressed to order one from the UK and add postage and get it for less than $133. Cheers.
  19. Excellent box set. I shudder to think what airmail to the States will be for postage, however.
  20. @Mark, is that going to be near Manchester? Cheers.
  21. It's now down to $55.99 now! https://www.ebay.com/itm/100-45-RPM-Record-Album-Mailer-Boxes-200-7-x-7-Filler-Pads-SHIPS-FREE-/180731160118?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a146aa636
  22. @Geeselad, I have a bulk lot of 60s/70s (and some 80s) soul 45s. Over 13,000 of them. PM me if you're interested in more information. Cheers.
  23. I use a place in the States that has the white heavy-duty cardboard mailers and put 2 pads (and have used 4 when it's a dearer item) and have it down to $57 US with free shipping for 100 mailers and 200 pads.
  24. That track is the business!
  25. It's because the US Post Office is losing $25 million US per day. They are required to pre-fund health insurance for future retirees, which started in 2006. It's really moronic, because before the postage increase, I was giving them a lot of business, and since the 27 January jump, not so much.
