Heres the Story, i was in a taxi getting a lift from a venue i`d dj`d at, chatting to the taxi driver, he told me his older brother was into northern soul and the usual he had a box of old records in his loft. I asked him what sort of stuff there was, he didn`t really know, but i was welcome to them if i wanted to take a look, i took his adress and phone number. Rang him a couple of weeks later and went round. It was one of those plastic covered hundred boxes covered with dust. Opening up as per usual bootleggs the usual things that have allready been said, but i carried on not wishing to be ignorant. Got about half way through and then hit a few british things. STEP OUT OF LINE, ON THE BRINK, EVERYTHING I TOUCH TURNS TO TEARS, DETERMINATION, then more bootleggs, then at the back five or six imports J.D MARTIN, JOE HICKS, DANA VALLERY DEMO, RUBIN DEMO, MICHAEL AND RAYMOND DEMO and a nice copy of EDWARD HAMILTON-BABY DON`T YOU WEEP, mike terry credits complete with nasville mattrix. Told the guy some of the records i would like, and maybe an idea if he contacted his brother to make sure he didn`t want them. He told me his brother had emigrated to Canada and he had helped him clean his house out before he went, his brother had told him to just put the box in the skip but he`d kept them for some reason. Then we struck a deal on what he wanted and i walked away lets say more than happy.
