  1. Did a runner yeh thats why ron got his nose broke i was back at the b+b don`t know why they all came for me there was about ten of em, all of it then they all marched off back into town to sort it out, about half an hour after it happened
  2. So no comment then
  3. Still never had anyone comment on this point,We know someone who has a fantastic collection, but refuses to play his originals because of the cost to replace & wear, is that acceptable, i mean i know he has the records as ive seen them but to punters he`s just playing boots
  4. Yeh if i remember we had his life
  5. Just been talking to one of my mates about the price of this today, he was talking about a version of this by another artist on MOJO? anyone throw any light on this?
  6. Don`t know about john in one corner and us in the other ken it was only a THREE MAN TENT imagine gray kelly his clothes n that he was allways pristine when we got back to the tent as you can imagine we were all a tad confused, in the morning gray said whose in my sleeping bag? john replied ME much to graham`s disgust, then john being john said n ive had a W**k in it CLASSIC JOHN JEFFRIES
  7. Don`t know wether he used to do that all the time but i certainly remember him doing it once, remember once instead of getting a b+b deciding to camp on the south cliff, so it was out with the gang on the friday as usual then back to the tent if you can imagine this scene four or five of us in one tent, john jeffries, ron pedley. salty, gray kelly, myself,&ramsay, now johns cleanliness was somewhat to be questioned really if you knew john he didn`t give a sh*t about anything or upsetting anyone, so as i said it was back to the tent with mr fartalot jeffries and the rest of the gang, but instead of going out friday salty pull a great big bag of magic mushrooms out of his bag!!!!!!!!!!!! well all i can say a walk down scarboro sea front and a hike up to the castle was an experience indeed, remember there was one of those little cages on the beach full of balls for the kids to play in, well we tried for what seemed to be an hour to figure out what it was, WHAT A NIGHT THAT WAS

  13. Every bank holiday [easter, august] in the early eighties we used to go through to scarborough, meet up with bub and all his mates and just have a general p**s up for the weekend, there were soul do`s on in the back room of the salsbury & of course RUDIES AKA FOUR SEASONS, had some great weekends thru there, heres some of us who used to go from york RON PEDLEY,SWISH, TOMMY SHERIDAN,SALTY, JOHN JEFFRIES,DES, MARTIN THOMMO,had some great times in the pickwick anybody got any memories out there?
  14. Been trying to remember about this nighter in manchester in the early eighties, anyone got any info?
  15. Although i as yet havn`t been, totally agree with what you are saying here trev, suppose its down to the promotors to advertise correctly, and as they say do exactly what it says on the TIN, as i was discussing with tony these things don`t happen overnight and its a case of sticking to a formula through thick and thin, me and diane dj`d the other week played away from what you would call the "NORM" nothing super elusive infact many of the records in the set were underplayed oldies ie ones that have escaped the bootleggers and whilst we got rave reviews and comments from most of the more open minded of the crowd, a small section of the crowd actually heckled us between every record? The two lads who dj`d before us played out & out oldies inc boots and filled the floor no disrespect to them in anyway,DJ`S, COLLECTORS, DANCERS,LISTENERS.as pete smith says an atmosphere should be provided by dj`s for dancers who don`t really care what label it`s on anyway and i do suppose it`s about going out and enjoying yourselves anyway, to me if one dj`s set spoils your night whats the point in making the effort to go out, YOU CAN PLEASE SOME OF THE PEOPLE SOME OF THE TIME,BUT NOT ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME
