Me and my wife decided due to the large amount of oldies/commercial nights in our area to start an underplayed soul night, took a while to get off the ground but we have a dedicated following now, not by anyway a packer but some very intresting music played, as its allmost impossible nowadays to find new tunes, we believe this is another option of moving forward, there is a vast backcatologue of music simply forgotten and may i say some fantastic stuff just lost, a prime example of this is in the crossover friday section on this forum.- Working On The Door

Been thinking about this one and i suppose its all down to the people who youve associated with over the years, we all began with little or no knowledge, and until the age of the computer it was down to wether or not you were dedicated enough to actually sit and listen to your peers, who passed on the knowledge that had been passed on to them possibly in the same way, ive allways found all members of the rare soul scene very accesable to enquiries and have allways been more than happy to pass on there knowledge, so really in that respect for me the answer would have to be the soul scene as a whole and not really one person- Proffesor Of Soul
Too right there chris, top lad i was just saying to him at gateshead i remeber when me n you used to talk about ric-tic he`s come on leaps n bounds over the last couple of years, then as you say chris the wealth of knowledge in the north east is phenominal, top place for class music n people- Proffesor Of Soul
Got to agree with dave molloy joan, and of course the sadly missed mr lawson, havn`t seen dave for years now is he still out n about? spent many hours talking to ron pedley and mr tony colby they are both up there for me,don`t know baz atkinson that well but looking at the crossover friday section a wealth of knowledge, also ian ohara ex york now in new zealand, there are so many really it would be hard to find one that stands alone, also gary fields these people have been very influential to me- Was Your Coach Ever Turned Over By The Squad
Not so much a coach story, but was walking down the side of the dancefloor in the main hall at wigan when something hit me on my shoulder, looked down n it was a bag of blue capsules, i didn`t know what they were in those days, one of the lads i was with promptly took them off me n returned later with cash, so it was back to the record bar for me, found out later some poor lad had been busted on the balcony and had just thrown what he had over- Just Looked At My Box
Or do as cockney steve from leeds used to do fill it with cans of ale- Was Your Coach Ever Turned Over By The Squad
