Also didn`t a lot of copies of ALICE CLARK-YOU HIT ME come off bradford market, also don`t know wether this was a fable or not but SWISH from york told me DEAN PARRISH-I`M ON MY WAY also came from there as well

Bostocks also had a store in york, they used to do soul packs of ten singles for £1, remember at one time getting kenny smith-lord whats happening, taking them to sell at the casino only to realise everyone else in york had done the same got some good stuff out of bostocks god knows how many copies of betty swan came out of there along with spyder turner, there was at least two in every pack

BEING 100% SERIOUS HERE SOME ONE SHOULD WRITE A BOOK, WEVE HAD ALL THE VENUES, AND HISTORY OF THE MUSIC BOOKS, THIS SUBJECT WOULD BE A CRACKER, GREAT STORIES, YOU GUYS IMHO MADE THE SCENE WHAT IT IS TODAY, ANY IDEAS WHO WERE THE FIRST TO GO OVER?

As i posted earlier in this thread, this has been a fascinating read, but to add to these stories, i would love to hear how these guys felt on there first trip, i can only imagine how dodgy a place the usa is if youve never been before, bet these guys have some tales to tell on that subject, especially as some of the people must have only been in there early twenties at the time, very daunting indeed

Totally agree with you there dave, fascinating! can`t imagine the feeling of coming across some of these finds, allways wondered what people felt like the first time they picked up a record like frank beverly that no one over here had ever heard over here, top marks to these guys the building blocks of our scene
