  1. Thanks again Alan for your help, I have managed to track a copy of this down for £15 + £1 P&P. Great tune!! If anyone hasn't heard this, give it a chance and listen it past the 35 second mark.
  2. YES YES YES!!!! Thanks Alan that's the one, obviously got the title wrong. Thank you so much matey. Steve
  3. Can someone please help? A few moths ago I heard a record called 'Danny Boy', started off slow and then sped up, female vocal, might have been a 'B' side and for some reason 'MGM' keeps popping into my mind? Might be wrong there though. The artist has completely gone out of my head, but I think she was quite well known. Any clues please? PS - No I haven't lost it :-) This IS the Danny Boy track that a million artists have recorded, but this version was Northern'ed up to f**k!!
  4. A very rare book on Ebay! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310377710314?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649#ht_790wt_948

  6. Best I've seen was in Leeds quite a few years ago 'TYT 1S' A little story about when I tried to get one to relate to a record shop in Leeds that I owned. The Shop was called 'The Listening Booth', this is when you had to get through to the DVLA on August 1st at 9.30 to reserve one of the new registrations (1989 this was). So on the phone I got and got straight through to the DVLA at bang on 9.30, I said I want to reserve a number plate and told her what I wanted, this was when the new plates were 'L' reg. I said I want to reserve 'L15 TEN', she said it's already been sold, I argued the toss and asked "how could it have when I have got straight through"?, She couldn't answer, but I know some rich TWAT will have reserved it before the date of registration. I had to settle for my second choice of 'L30 OTH' (L Booth). had this a few years until the shop went into liquidation and the plate had to go with the stock. P.S. The 'L15TEN' plate sold for £25.000 not so long back. One of the best and most expensive music orientated ones I have seen is 'MU51CAL' Sold for approx' £55K'
  7. Thanks for that Bri, much appreciated.
  8. Hi peeps Just wondering what 'Jackie Trent - You baby' was originally released on? I have seen it on the 'Casino Classics' single, but before that, what was it on? Was it an album track or was it released on a single? Thank you Steve
  9. Collection of 26 Modern Northern 7s on Ebay, nothing rare but some nice fillers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310374859653?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  10. Sad loss, one of my fave tunes was 'It's just begun', which I believe was never released on single?

  13. Got to agree, the Lulu track is excellent, I won mine for about £3 on the Bay, and in near mint condition.
  14. The first 'Leeds Central Soul Club' alldayer of 2012
  15. Found out elsewhere, Thanks
  16. If possible could anyone let me know that the going price for a 'Bobby Young - Your love keeps me cool' on 'Foxie' Demo in VG- condition? A mate has a copy and is trying to sell me it. Thank you and seasons greetings.
  17. You will find that a lot of the early Hip-Hop 12s are fetching big money these days. I have lots and some are worth big bucks especially the US import ones. A lot of the ones that I have were sent to me as promos from the record companies when I used to DJ that stuff in the mid 80s, so have some very rare stuff too. Some good stuff albeit not Northern.
  18. Kim Weston - You hit me (Right where it hurt me), Best version by far imo. Anyone know what album this came out on? or is it just the 'Anthology'? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v86WgMdP-zE
  19. Yeah could be that s'pose! I have the inst' on a CD, not that I'd play a cd out like! Still not a £20 boot though imho!
  20. I know this also came out on the 'Champaign' label as a 12", did it ever get released as a 'Champaign' 7"?
  21. Extract from the Solomon King website In 1974 King recorded the title song for the feeble film The Doll Squad, starring Francine York, which is now seen as a prototype for Charlie's Angels. He had recorded a gospel song, "This Beautiful Day", under a different pseudonym, Levi Jackson, and, although the single sank without trace in 1971, it was reactivated in 1978 and became popular on the Northern Soul circuit.
  22. Yeah that's right, I was offered £80 for my UK original release. Turned it down like, I'd prefer that to a lookalike boot!
  23. Can't understand why this is fetching so much?? Isn't it one of the recent re-presses? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NORTHERN-CLASSIC-FRANK-WILSON-DO-LOVE-YOU-indeed-do-VOCAL-INST-/160681335724?pt=UK_Records&hash=item25695a9bac
  24. Managed to get a Demo copy off the Bay, £28+p&p, so happy with that, and it a minter in orig sleeve too. BONZA!!!! I know it's gonna cause some controversy, but I think it's up there with the Timi Yuro's and similar! my opinion anyway!
  25. It's spooky how much the 'Barrino's sound so much like 'COTB'? but without GJ, and on the same label too?
