  7. Hi soul peeps. Considering buying one of the following. can anyone let me know if there are real demos or Bootlegs? Thank you
  8. What happened inbetween then
  9. Steve, from what has been said above about the 'C', I think that the one Image I posted from the video may be an original.
  10. He does look Italian definitely, there are and were a lot of Italian Americans, so could easily be. Did the album have this cut on?
  11. yeah but if it wasn't for similar records this fast, would the Northern Soul scene have been formed? as most of the Torch, Casino tunes were similar speed. Maybe that's a question for another thread eh?
  12. The original has 'c' in Brackets Bootleg has 'C' in a circle UK Repress on 'Fabulous' records 2002 That's what it looks like they are saying. This looks like an orig from a video on Youtube.
  13. It does sound like old Kev to be honest, good mind to contact him and see if he'll own up
  14. This is one of the ones I just bought for £11, so if the price of this listing is correct (which I doubt), another bargain goes into the box. Can I say it's really good to hear different peoples opinions about certain records, there is a massive difference in tastes across the scene, which in my eyes is very healthy. Always being a lover of many 'Blue eyed Soul' records, including the brilliant 'Mickey Moonshine', I think it was fate that I heard this and liked it and bought it immediately. I have now listened to it about 10 times, and that's before I have even recieved the record through the post, and I really can't see what is not to like about it? Doesn't bother me if a certain collector with rich parents made it, or someone in the 60s in a USA studio, it's the sound and what it instills in the listener that matters most, and to me, I think it great. Quite simply put, it's what Northern Soul is all about, Energy, Strings, danceable, decent vocals. OK Not the best in the world, granted, but certainly not the worst when you throw into the mix 'Joe 90' and the like
  15. Well as I said in my second post, 'Strokes for folks', I really like it to be honest, decent voice and good dancer, and definately better than some I've heard.
  16. Really sorry to hear this. Didn't go to Manifesto much but had the pleasure of meeting Pete on one occasion that I did. Very sad news and deepest symapathy to his nearest and dearest.
  17. Reason I asked in the first place is that a test press of the re-press went on the bay tonight for £28 with 17 bids. On the other thread it says one went for £88, and that one of the originals went for £1000? Just wanted to know the history of it. Must admit though on instinct I just bought a 2002 repress for £11. So not too much to lose if I soon get sick of it :-). Thanks for your replies Steve
  18. Thanks Chalky, strokes and folks I suppose. Also just seen a previous thread about it. Thanks again.
  19. Well! you live and learn! I thought I had heard all the 100mph stompers, but one always jumps out at you when you are least expecting it. So! What's the story on 'Joey Delorenzo - Wake up to the sunshine girl'? Just heard it for the first time and I'm blown away. Is it blue eyed Soul, or a black artist? Where did it come from? Apart from the 2002 UK release, was it released previously? Album track? 7"?. I need to know all about this tune. Any help appreciated please. Steve X
  20. Saw him on the 'Jools Holland later.... show last night. Damn good voice
  21. I would imagine that the burning process would have to be done on the other side of the record and not the one you want to play??
  22. Yes I understand that it would have to be perfectly aligned before attempting anything like that. How would you acheive the burning process? a cigarette end maybe, just on the edge where the crack is?
  23. Ian, maybe one of the secure storage units might be an idea, I know you can get a small one for about a tenner a week up here, not sure about where you are though. The units are usually housed within a warm building so no damp problems, and you could use shelving in there.
