  1. I think many people and many DJs went from the Northern scene into the Disco and House scenes when Northern got too mainstream being played on Radio 1 etc. It was a natural progression, and the Rave scene in particular when it hit in the late 80s bore more than a slight resemblance to the Northern scene of the 60s and 70s. What with people traveling miles to get to the clubs, popping sweeties and dancing all night.
  2. Definitely 2 of the best underplayed 'Disco' records ever.
  3. WOW! Excellent, thank you for the info. What do you think of the track? I also got this at the same time. Again I know it's a re-press, but what a great tune. Cost me $14 +P&P
  4. WOW! 86 views and no replies? can anyone help?
  5. Just bought this from the states for $8. Really nice, and I know it is a re-press as the seller told me, but does anyone know it's history? Original label, ect.? and maybe your thoughts on the tune itself? Thank you Update, just found this on Youtube
  6. excellent, that's at least 2 then LOL! Where did you got yours from? Was it the Torch?
  7. Excellent, I would say that you are VERY knowledgeable on the subject. Thank you
  8. I don't know, I wouldn't mind finding out though.
  9. Heheh!! yeah, I know apparently one went on the bay for over £200, not sure if it was this type, but this IS one of the original ones, and more rare than the embroidered ones cos as you said Pete, many just threw them away.
  10. Just wondering if anyone else has seen one of these white 'Torch' badges? I got it at the 'Torch' but never seen another white one, all the ones I have seen have been the normal black design. Obviously there must be more white ones out there, but not seen another one recently.
  11. Ultra Rare Original 3rd Anniversary 'Wigan Casino' cloth badge on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310514209271?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  12. I have to agree. In the good old days before the internet, you had to rely on lists, sellers and going to events to find what you wanted. Now all you have to do is to surf the net. It has taken a lot of fun and excitement out of collecting. Good idea by the way, but it will never happen again, I think a lot of collectors have got lazy and would just prefer to sit at a computer looking for the tunes, me included I hate to admit. After all we are getting on a bit and it's the easier option, and to be perfectly honest, you didn't/don't get many sellers at events that don't know what they are selling and don't know how much they are worth, unlike many on eBay etc., so grabbing a bargain would be a harder task.
  13. 2 Kiki Dee albums just gone on Ebay. Both Mint- Condition! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310514151496?ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310514151666?ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  14. It wouldn't suprise me to be honest. I think that 'Music Stack' have more of a monopoly now after the takeover of 'Netsounds'.
  15. No, what I was meaning by look for negative feedback, is negative feedback from buyers, not sellers. If someone had experienced the same problems as a buyer, maybe bought something that was not as described, and complained to the seller with no result, they can leave negative feedback. Sorry if the post was confusing. It's age related
  16. Thanks Derek and I agree, but you can always look at their feedback to see if they had done this type of thing before, which I did and he hadn't. I am sure that if he had he would have had some bad feedback from the 'ripped' sellers, but he didn't. I reakon he was trying it on and got away with the money, but not giving me bad feedback thankfully, which to me is worth more than £80
  17. Two of the 'MUSTS' in retailing is to look after your customers and be polite. This guy is neither, and should definitely not be sending out messages like this. If it were me, I would have instantly reported him to eBay and let them deal with him, maybe sending him a message back stating your disgust at his bad attitude and that you have reported him to eBay. Let him roast.
  18. Had it happen to me quite a few times, either saying things are broken, or not recieved (that's another biggie). My advice with records is to put a tiny security mark on with one of the invisible marker pens that you can get, and to prevent it happening, mention it in the description that it has been security marked to avoid wrongly returned items. It only has to be a tiny dot in a place where only you know where it is. Also recorded signed for delivery to avoid them saying that they haven't recieved an item, then you have proof that they have.
  19. Just like to add that I played this out for the first time last Saturday. As I announced the record, even before I played it, a cheer went up from the crowd, and it filled the floor. So it works :-)
  20. Katherine Tate (Old lady) cast as Mrs Woods "Stop F**king pushing"
  21. I was thinking Pete maybe it would work for you if you rang them and explained the situation? Didn't you have the same problem?
  22. Regular occurrence! They buy yours to replace their broken one and then send the broken one back. Hence 1 free printer, or whatever!
  23. I mentioned in a now locked thread, that I had had a bad experience with an eBay buyer, in as much as I sold the a printer, and when they recieved it they said it didn't work (it was perfect when sent). I asked them to return the printer and it was a different machine to what I had sole, same model but different printer. To save getting negative feedback I told the buyer that I thought it was a different printer but I would refund them, which I did. About 3 weeks later the buyer said that I had not refunded them and gave me negative feedback anyway. So to the crux of the story! Yesterday I rang Ebay and told them the situation and that I don't think I deserved negative feedback. They put me on hold for about 5 minutes and came back and said that after looking at the case and the emails that had been passed between myself and the buyer, they agreed, and that they would remove the feedback putting me back to 100%, and they have So if you think you have been badly treated by a buyer and you think you have a good case, it's worth ringing them. Here is the before and after result.
  24. Like both 'Sidras theme' and the Vocal as much as each other. 'The Gallop' one of the many of my all time faves, just has an immense atmosphere to it, always on repeat in the car.
