  1. Just for the record 'Pardon the pun' there was no such group as 'Black Box'. When 'Ride on time' was released on the UK market, the record company got a few peeps together so that they could appear on TOTP. Obviously the record was simply a sample of Loleatta Holloway's' 'Love sensation' with a backing track, and was put together by Italian DJ/Producer 'Daniele Davoli', and the face of the band that was manifested for the record was the French model 'Katrin Quinol' who lip synched the vocals. Recordings by the 'band'? were usually released on 'Groove Groove Melody' in Italy and then were put onto the 'Deconstruction' label for release in the UK. In my opinion (for what it's worth) I think the remake of 'EWF' 'Fantasy' was one of their better ones.
  2. Yeah sorry Pete, on second reading I realised it was. My apologies :-)
  3. I'll play it anyway Dave see what reaction it gets, I'll let you know! And on second thought, it sounds better without the vocal :-)
  4. Heheh!! amazing what a bit of detective work can achieve! Psyche I believe the genre is!
  5. Quote from clip "Remember this been played by Richard Sirling at the Casino around 1977 - covered up as "Don,t Say A Word"
  6. Yeaaaaaa! I've found a full version on Youtube, not to bad actually> Worth what I paid anyway. Would def' sound better with a vocal over it though!
  7. Yeah actually that's true, they have that feel. Has anyone else heard the full version?
  8. Thanks for the thread link Godzilla, but still doesn't give any tips on what it is, was, or whatever :-) Thing is I have only heard the first 20 seconds of the track, I hope it doesn't break down into a C&W hoedown, line dance monster after that LOL! There are no clips of it anywhere!
  9. Sounds similar I must admit, but not convinced that it is the same, also they are written by different writers, if that is anything to go by? it's the horns at the end of the clip that ring a bell with me.
  10. Is that what it is? I haven't knowingly heard that, and this sound so familiar to me. Has anyone reviewed this before on here?
  11. Not sure if this has been on here before, But I have just purchased a 45 purely because it sounds so familiar. I only have a tiny sample of the record, about the first 20 seconds or so, and I am sure I have heard it before but can't think where and what it is? Something in the back of my mind it telling me that is is the instrumental of some Northern vocal track? Has anyone any idea or am I going mental in my old age? https://www.theleedsgallery.com/tunes/times gone by.mp3
  12. I think it's all down the buyer/seller. If someone gets a 45 cheap and knows it's worth a lot more than they paid, then obviously they will try to sell if for what it is really worth, isn't that the game? I have had a few bargains over the past year or so, for instance a 'Patti and the Emblems US Orig' Demo, that I paid nearly nothing for and sold for what it was worth and the buyer was very happy. Anyone that doesn't do that must be 'Off their Rocker' surely?? I know it's not all about money, but it's a rare occurrence that you acquire a 45 for much less than it's worth, and in these days of 'trying to make ends meet' it's just something that you have to do. Just my two penneth!! :-)
  13. S'easy. You need to upload it to an 'image hosting' site, there are many but the most popular is https://photobucket.com/ Just sign up, it's free. Then upload your photo. When you have uploaded it, there will be a link (URL) for the photo you want to use. Copy that (ctrl+c) and when you come on here to put it on, there is a little icon on the tool bar that looks like a little TV screen, Click on that and paste the link (ctrl+v) into the box, click 'OK' and bingo. Hope that helps.
  14. Never seen one on an import only UK, Always wondered if it got a release internationally, now I know. Love to see one though, anyone got a scan?
  15. Thank you Pete, I have had the Demo of Solomon King and it was definitely 'Say A Prayer' on the 'A'. https://www.45cat.com/record/db8676 A little surprised that there isn't demand for the 'Little Queenie', still a floor filler even now in oldies clubs, but I do see your point, I have seen normal UK copies go for pennies. Sometimes though, and I'm sure you will agree, it's not only the record, but the look of the label that urges you to buy it, as was the case with this.
  16. Would you consider the 'Bill Black' demo a bargain? Just not seen another and liked the look of it.
  17. That's how it started off Bri , nice find the Dells tune mate.
  18. I actually saw a US Black copy go for £125 on the bay, but thought that a little high, not complaining like , paid £30 for mine less than a year ago.
  19. Also noticed that on the Solomon King, the 'A' side is called ''Say a prayer for me', but on the demo copies it's been shortened to 'Say a prayer'. What is the other side of the 'Levi Jackson' copies? is it the same? Never had one to look at.
  20. I also got this for £20, which I think is a good buy? Don't see many! Photo's a bit small, but it's a 'Little Queenie' 'Hi' Demo, in mint condition.
  21. The seller said 'Nice coloured vinyl' so I imagine is is Gold, I think it's because the sellers picture (above) is taken with something dark underneith the record.
  22. So how much is the USA Black RCA copy worth please?
  23. Just bought a few of nice bits at knock down prices. They're are bargains still out there. Nancy Ames - I don't want to talk about it- South Africa CBS £40 Solomon King - This beautiful day UK Columbia £48 Bobby Patterson - My baby's coming back to me - Jetstar Demo £6 Billy Harner - Irresistible you - Kent Demo £6 Fire away!! :-)
