  1. Thanks Dave H, I thought it was enthralling. I have seen many like it before but none that go into so much detail. As you say, from a trainspotters point of view it's invaluble and essential viewing
  2. Well worth a watch! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150264355797378
  3. Website Title: Northern Soul Uk Teaser: A website totally dedicated to Northern Soul Country: United Kingdom Town/City: https://www.soul-source.co.uk/directory
  4. UK CBS Demo Bobby Womack - Home is where the heart is, on eBay - 7 day sale https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311002454570?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  5. Must be rare as hens teeth then!!!
  6. £77 this time. A bit cheaper than the last one at £245.95, and the same press too? The crazy world of Northern Soul eh?
  7. Anyone else seen one?
  8. Do you have this too than Dave? can't be that many around?
  9. Hi Just managed to get hold of this and I wondered if anyone has seen one before? It's not listed on Discogs and can't find reference to it anywhere else after a quick search. The Dells Sampler - Cadet Records CADJ-3 Thank You
  10. Nice clean Demo copy of 'Jimmey (Soul) Clark - Sweet Darling' on eBay. Ends in a few days. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310987351548?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  11. very true Rob, although it's hard to say whether or not there is a hurry for the owner to sell it as we do not know his financial circumstances. I know for a fact that if it was myself being constantly broke, and I found something like this that would take the financial pressure off for a fair bit of time, I would have no hesitation to sell it. At the end of the day it would still have been myself that descovered it and I will have owned the rarest UK Soul record of all time, at least for a little while.
  12. Well if FW fetched 23K?? and this is the only known copy after 48 years? I'd say there's a chance of 30K.
  13. The only reason that is said so many times is because of the idiots that will pay so much, and it's usually said when something has sold that's not worth what it has acheived. It's the old addage, "it's only worth what someone will pay". However, this is in a different league, I can't see many people having a spare 30K or so to throw around, this will be only accessable to the hardcore collectors who actually know what the history of it is worth as well as the actual rarity.
  14. Nothing against Mr Manship whatsoever, but come on, even a monkey on a street corner could get big money for this, it will literally sell itself. I bet without putting it on any lists it could raise 25K on this site alone, on eBay more with a worldwide audience etc. This is one of those records that doesn't need a huge marketing and promotion push, all it needs if for nickw to give the word that he wants to sell it. I am sure that most of the serious UK Soul collectors know of it's descovery by now, and are waiting with bated breath cheque books at the ready already signed.
  15. The find of the century, the holy grail, do you know how honoured you are Nickw to be the keeper of such a treasure? You and the record will certainly go down in record collecting history. If it were me I wouldn't sell it for a while just to etch myself in the history of what I had descovered, I would have as many photos of myself and the record taken as possible and have them framed and mounted. I would then when I decided to sell it on, make sure that the deal included that I were documented as the finder of the record to go down in any future reference books etc. It is a sad fact that when you do sell it, if you do, you will feel a great loss not to be the holder of it anymore and there will be an empty space where it once was that is never likely to be filled, but hey! you'll be a rich man. Very well done, I am very jealous, but in a good way and I am very pleased for you that you have found this up til now elusive gem.
  16. Pete S, I got no response from Record collector either after you advised me to about the 'Solomon King - This beautiful day', with the different titled 'A' side and the different matrix numbers.. Seems that they may only be interested in what THEY discover. I know nowhere near the same scale as this but still interesting all the same.
  17. Might be firing blanks here :-) But aren't they all by Mel Hayes as the record is written my him, and isn't he the vocalist? What is the difference record wise, if any, between the ones that are credited as 'Mel Hayes', and the ones that are credited to the 'Boogie Man Orchestra'? Is it just the label print?
  18. REALLY?? 2nd press too! When I sold mine I got £30 about a year ago. Delreys incorporated - Destination unknown https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261493885481?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648

  20. It's that furking Mary Portas that started it all off when she showed the charity shop that they should be selling things at realistic prices. All the charity organisations will have watched it and followed suit. I've certainly noticed the change in prices and a more professional look and layout to charity shops since the program was aired
  21. You're all quackers!
