  1. Merged into this ongoing thread Just got this for the princely sum of £16, never seen one before and I do love unusual labels. Lou Johnson - A time to love, a time to cry/Unsatisfied - Italian London label
  2. Sheila Anthony on Route now up to £67.50 with 4 days to go!!! LOL!! The lunitics have escaped from the asylum Love this game, paid £3 for mine 10 years ago https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sheila-Anthony-Livin-In-Love-Woman-To-Woman-RT-13-UK-7-1stP-1975-Route/291238767509?_trksid=p2047675.c100013.m1986&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107105714%26meid%3D712304be0c244bafa34a86bd9dc837d4%26pid%3D100013%26prg%3D20140107105714%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D30%26sd%3D251291543551
  3. Northern Soul & Motown LIVE tonight 7-9 pm. To tune in, either go to this link www.allstarfm.co.uk and click on the 'Listen Live' link, and open the file in your preffered media player on PC or Mac. Or Download the 'Allstar fm' app from your app store.
  4. LOL Piss funny that, all one tone, and that's the wrong one My vote is Wicked Lester - Gay with an 'E', off key and flat, but again good backing.
  5. Think he meant 'Buttercup' Ian D
  6. well if it sells it'll cost him £40 Which is ironic really as that would still be £35 more than it's worth.
  7. OK, I must be going Gaga!! Is this REALLY worth this much with 6, yes 6 days to go???? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sheila-Anthony-Livin-In-Love-Woman-To-Woman-RT-13-UK-7-1stP-1975-Route/291238767509?_trksid=p2047675.c100013.m1986&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107105714%26meid%3D712304be0c244bafa34a86bd9dc837d4%26pid%3D100013%26prg%3D20140107105714%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D30%26sd%3D251291543551
  8. There are so many markings of Boots or originals here it's getting hard to follow. Can we get a difinitive list of what is what i.e. What markings to look for in a boot and what to look for in an orig'? So that anyone looking at this thread in the future won't have to ask again as I did. Is there anyone who could do that please?
  9. Yes It is styrene I think, and I think it is a boot from what you say. Plays well though, good, loud and clear.
  10. I have read all the points above, but still cannot come to the conclusion whether I have a boot or an orig of this? Some of the above points don't comply to my copy. There is a scan attached, and the runout lettering are as follows: 45-6379 65C-9290-REPL A tiny' NR or MR A triangle and 95372 There is no dropping of needles at the start, and this was bought from someone who wasn't sure themselves. Sorry for dragging up an old thread. Just thinking about it the 'REPL' might be a bit suss?? also has the 'MR' stamp so most likely a boot.
  11. Lots! An original Johnny sayles - can't get enough on St Lawrence (only listed the B side) Pookie Hudson - this gets to me original, again only the B side listed Solomon King - This beautiful day - UK Columbia (listed as 'say a prayer for me') Still never found out why this copies 'A' side is 'Say a prayer for me, when on every other copy it is just 'say a prayer'? any ideas yet? also the dead wax lettering is different, but is definitely an original UK Columbia press. intriguing eh? Most recent Maxine Brown - Let me give you my loving on US Wand, listed as 'Machine Brown' LOL £12 no bids but mine
  12. A speedy recovery Ian, those nights at the Highland room will never be forgotten, it was part of my history and the process of my learning to love the music and the scene. The records that you introduced to the scene will always be legendary and will live on forever. From a fan and a someone with a great deal of respect for your work and input to the Northern Soul scene.
  13. Yes thank you Andy. I was in touch with Elaine, Matthew and Ian dewhirst today (Sunday) and it was a mistake on the organisers part. Apparently the Central was mentioned in passing when someone suggested the HiFi club, and them not knowing any better, thought that the Central would be on the night of filming. It has all been put to rights now and they have apologised for the mix up, and have changed the listing to 'Hifi soul' instead of the 'Leeds Central' which is not until the 19th October. I will be there for the filming and it has been suggested that I do a DJ set too, hopefully that will happen.
  14. All a good flyer needs is: Where (which town/City) it's taking place in larger letters for the not so well sighted and in dark rooms/clubs. The address and postcode of the venue The DJs and what style of music will be played An eye catching design so it stands out from the other flyers it's going to get put next to. Times of the event and event rules i.e age limits etc. In other words as much info as possible without writing a manuscript.
  15. LOL!! Funny as.......
  16. Revised listing. Please check link. https://mapsengine.google.com/map/viewer?mid=zFGS9e5qkNpI.k1gQ4NA_b2Io Listing has been revised by the organisers to 'HiFi Soul' on the 10th september, NOT 'The Leeds Central'. The next 'Leeds Central Alldayer' is on the 19th October
  17. Can someone please point me to the thread that says that to celebrate the release of the film, they will be filming at various venues over the next week and interviewing the promotors and original DJs and dancers, including the 'Leeds Central' on Wednesday the 10th?? It's the first I have heard of it?? Thank you
  18. This is the one I bought in April this year: Timi Yuro - Something Bad On My Mind (LP, Album) Media Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+) Sleeve Condition: Very Good (VG) $14.00 It was in better than described condition too.
  19. LOL!! Oh dear!! Pete S, those are my questions that I asked him, and of course the answers I recieved. Pretty damn funny, obviously not a didgeridoo about prices. Probably has read somewhere that Marvin did a rare record that was picked up by the NS scene, so every record that marvin recorded is Northern Soul and worth a fortune. Oh! thought I'd add this too. This is the next message I sent him, but didn't get a reply. Yes of course I understand that it is your price and people are not forced to buy it if they don't want. I was merely enquiring. There are VERY few if any bootlegs (non genuine) about of this title, as there were literally thousands of this title pressed and released, it got to number 7 in the Billboard charts in the USA. You can pick up a stone mint copy for £20 or less. Anyway, Thanks for the info and I hope that your auction sale goes well.
  20. Seen this on eBay. Nothing special, I asked him. Thought it might be a signed copy maybe? Marvin Gaye - What's going on - Tamla US Normal - £404 start price. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=301286508288&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123
