  1. Just put a copy of the album in eBay Sales forum
  2. Timi Yuro album 'Something bad on my mind' includes 'It'll never be over for me' https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Northern-Soul-Timi-Yuro-Original-Rare-Album-inc-039-It-039-ll-never-be-over-for-me-/311330634642?
  3. On the subject of other versions, has anyone heard the Pat Lewis version? Got a copy on 'Joe Boy' which I believe was bundled with a CD as the record has a CD holder middle in it. Whats the score with this version, I have checked her albums but no sign of it on those.
  4. Just found a new track, it's by the 'Not a clues' and it;s called 'It will never be overpriced for me'
  5. Another blinder! and this time is a CD. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Various-Artists-Northern-Soul-Generation-Keep-The-Faith-CD-New-/381151626423?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item58be6844b7
  6. Or booking the wrong DJs
  7. "And if I were a promoter I wouldn't dream of not paying my DJ's" Agreed, Why wouldn't DJs be paid, they spend hundreds and sometimes thousands on their collections, and they are booked to play the records they have bought. It's like asking a joiner to build you a kitchen and not paying them cos they can do it or they enjoy doing it. Many DJs, myself included do it as a profession, a job and a means of earning money to live. It's OK doing it for free if that's what you want, or to get your name of flyers etc. for your CV fair dinkum.
  8. Me neither LOL. You might as well get the DJ to announce what the tune after the one he is playing is going to be, save the expense of cameras and screens being installed "and the next tune I'll be playing after this one is Tomangos on a boot, so if you don't want to dance to it you can go and order you drink at the bar after this one. you should have enough time because the tune I'll be playing after that will be an original copy of The Salvadors, which you will definitely want to dance to" LOL
  9. and as of late even if you had a box full of bootlegs they would be worth a fortune the way prices are going recently, with people paying huge amounts of wonga for boots with look alike original labels stuck over 'em.
  10. In my humble opinion and for what it's worth, one of the exciting things about going to an event as a punter is NOT knowing what is coming next. Knowing the next tune every time would also spoil that element of surprize for the DJ too. You wouldn't get the same buzz from the crowd if they all knew what was coming next. One of the fun things about DJing is dropping a tune out of the blue and watching the crowd react.
  11. £40 tops, but hey! if someone wants to give me £125 for mine all well and good
  12. LOL!! Stunning eh?? Actually it's not THAT bad LOL. But dare you play it? Pretty funky for a fat bird on a piano Oh Crap, I've done it again haven't I? Batten down the hatches
  13. What next?? I'll tell you what's next :-) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOD-NORTHERN-SOUL-MRS-MILLS-WERE-GONNA-THROW-A-LITTLE-PARTY-VG-/151626617106?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item234da69112
  14. Ends today Monday 23rd March, at around dinnertime, along with 4 other top classics including, Jeanette Williams - All of a sudden, Little Richard - Get down with it UK Demo, Mary Love - you turned my bitter into sweet, and Soul Generation - Hold on - Grapevine Demo. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311319157126…
  15. My feelings too Ian. No need to go to all that trouble to do a boot, it's likely to sell anyway if it's an in demander.
  16. yes Roburt I did see post 18, it just seems that it was a lot of trouble to go to remastering it, making the label look so clean and lifelike and adding the 'Div of ABC Dunhill', when whoever Booted it if it is a boot, could have just done a straight copy of the original and the label and probably made as much money? There are not many Boots that I have seen that look and sound better than the original. Reminds me somewhat of the 'Coasters - Crazy baby' repress. I and many thought for years that it was a boot and it turned out to be a ligit 'Atco/Atlantic' repress.
  17. So, just got a 2nd release copy of this and the sound quality is excellent. I take it that it must have been remastered. It has been mentioned in an earlier post on this thread as being a 'So called boot', so is it a boot or is it an official repress maybe due to the sound quality? In my experience of remixing, to remaster a track properly, you would need the actual separate parts of the track to be able to boost or lower the offending properties. Could this have been the case or was it just a matter of re-recording the track with less bass, which would be hard to do if as said above the original recording record was muffled? Does anyone know who Booted/Reissued it? and whether they had access to the original masters?
  18. Can anyone please let me know what the runout groove stamps should be on an original Rose Batiste - Hit and run/I miss my baby on Revilot please?
  19. I said I would put a photo of the cover up tonight if no one got the answer. Thanks to those that had a go. (take that how you want :-)
  20. LOL, if no one get's it by this time tomorrow, I'll put a photo of the cover up that it's from.
  21. HARD ON!!!!!
  22. This is the beginning of an introduction to a rare album, containing a number 1 Northern Soul record, by an amazing vocalist. True words indeed, but how many know what album it is from?
  23. I sort of agree Dave, but even back in the 70s paying say £5 for a record was a weeks wage for many, so not that affordable really. I remember when I was living with my mum I got home from the casino on Sunday after being paid on Friday, and my mum asking me for my board, and I narrowly escaped living on the streets when I told her I couldn't afford it cos I had bought some records. Mind you there were a couple of blinders, especially when she';d poked me in the eyes a few times LOL.
  24. Bobby Sheen - Something new to do Original US 'Warners' Demo on eBay With other nice tit bits in eBay store. Check it out. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311319157126?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
