Just wondered if anyone ever got one of these mis-presses? I know that Jumbo records in Leeds got some sent in their order when they got the vocal ones, and were offered out to customers, but not knowing how rare it would become, they refused them . Apparently 'Hunter Smith' The then owner sent them all back. When he realised how rare it would be, he rang the company up to see if he could get them back, but was told that they had been melted down. I wonder if any other shops got any, and did anyone buy one?

I may be one of the very few, but I prefer to buy unusual looking records, especially picture sleeved ones. I can't resist buying a record that I may even have on US or UK, if it's on a nice looking label with a p/s, hence the Mitch Ryder and Bobby Freeman ones above. I think that deep down, I like the looks that you get from other collectors at gigs, when you slide on the deck an unusual looking release, I like to see their heads rotating trying to catch up with the label name and title. Maybe that's just me, but it is a guilty pleasure :-)

I thought it was played before the Mecca? I'm sure I danced to it at the Torch? Might be wrong tho'

The one I got from the states has no address on the bottom, and I got it from someone selling a collection of original Rock n Roll, and they had listed the 'B' side of Johnny Sayles. I have heard that just because there is no address on the bottom doesn't mean it's not an original, maybe from another pressing plant.

I have just picked one up from the states on 'Musicor' Demo for £6. Doesn't help your plight, but I'm well chuffed.

I've thought this for ages, an emidisc isn't an acetate, it's a boot if anything, as they were pressed up on privately owned cutters. They are maybe the same material as an acetate but that's where the similarity ends. I just don't think a lot of people know the difference, I think the tell tale sign is 2 different artists on either side.
