Maybe people don't come on here to defend what they allow being played at there venues, because they are only intrested in giving the punters an enjoyable night out.. if you are a promoter of a small local do, you've had to pay for the venue out of your own pocket.. wondering if the number in the doors will cover that and the dj's.. you know you've already lost the money of the flyers.. all your worrying about is that the dj has a full floor and people will come back and support the venue.. as a promoter thats what you want.. I don't think its the promoters responsibility but the responsibility of the dj to play originals.. Now when a promoter books a dj.. do they A/ hear them out and see how busy the floor is and think, blimey he could do the business at my do.. I'll wait till he's finished and catch up with him.. or B/ does he go up and look through the dj's records to see if they are all originals ... probably A... no its not the promoter its the dj.. the person who is giving all the listern to what i've got ... listern to what i'm playing.. The promoter is just trying to give the punters an enjoyable night.. only what i think

I did once unknowingly.. few years ago I bought a copy of Hit & Run Rose Batiste for more than a boot should ever cost.. bought 4 records that day and I was djing that night so straight in my box without doing home work... I know the differnce now ... but not that day.. it was the most expensive one as well.. In Love £10 original Landslide - £10 original this diamond ring - £40 demo Hit and fu*king con ya.. to much £££'s so yes played once until i checked but more peed off as i paid to much for it.. oh well easy to get caught out if you don't know... if any one wants to buy it for more than its worth let me know ;o)

I suppose we all sit in our Northern Bubble and think everyone is okay and honest... but there are scum out there... like any where in life really..

From experiance as i still attened the odd rally (4 a year)... unlike a few years ago when I was doing about 10 a year.. I find when i'm on rallys I don't bother looking in record box's any more.. (yet i normaly spend most of my day looking at records on the internet) reason being is you get so fed up looking at boots and reissues that in the end you don't bother looking.. So rallies are for scooters, friends and beer... I imagine most people who are serious about there records are the same... I think scooterist like cd's these days.. go along for a beer and enjoy it instead... i'm sure there may be 1 or 2 on here going..

How ever big the hype or rare the record was imagine how you would feel after spending £15000 on a record to see it start at a £1.. you would be watching it every 10 minutes stressing.. at least Kenny can relax now..

I was thinking the same... on Johns site (old one) you can bring up 100 records at a time and look at the list.. on the new one it is 36.. I always get fed up with looking on Pat Bradys web site for this reason his only has 10 a page.. apart from that .. looks good..

I thought the rich were being hit as well in this "Credit Crunch" Share prices droping... intrest rates going down... I know retired people who lived off the intrest on their savings but are now having to spend thier savings.... It's hit most people... I know by friends in the building trade there work is drying up as the office workers (London) are losing there jobs and not spending so its having a knock on to the building trade... I had lunch today with a couple of friends and one said they have stoped spending because they feel bad for friends of thiers who have been hit but answering your question Food first... we will come out of the ressesion so records can be replaced... but if you starve you family and hide the bodies you may get in a bit of trouble...
