I had a Jackie Wilson record delivered today that I bought on ebay from Uruguay.. and it got me thinking.. Have you got any Records from around the world that you just wouldn't expect to be realeased in that country? (nothing exciting was reet petite but wanted to hear the others on the E.P that I can't pronounce, just in case!!!!). Col understand what you mean but be honest here.. (getting away from reissues etc) Don't you think its a lot to do with who you know, and if You put me on at your do i'll put you on at mine...

No i'm not like that anyone who knows me hopefully would know i'm not like that..... Maybe it's the crowds that we mix with. That makes you belive what you belive and feel what you feel... "Also the Stardust catalogue is good enough for anyone to be able to do a useful spot if the records are played in decent order" I'm not questioning the songs on the records all I mean If all dj's played them what would happen to the scene then? It can be bad enough when a record goes big that you don't like and you hear it out a lot.. Any way how big is your dad?

If all the dj's filled there box's with the likes of Goldmine or Stardust, or whatever new lookie likie thats just been released, how quickly would we get bored... every DJ would play the same thing.... Keep it Original.... from a DJ's point of view...You can't explain the feeling when someone looks on the decks, and you have an original... you don't feel like your cheatin anyone... you searched for that record for months weeks even years....stardust you can buy four for £20, off the internet wow at that rate we can all have a play box in a day...

We all talk about the quality of soul music being played at venues, but you have also got to think of the quality of the actul bit of plastic, most boots and reissues, the quality of sound isn't up to much when turned up loud.. On here you always get people comment on sound systems at venues, or when you are out, a certain dj may seem quieter than others, etc.. This could all be down to reissues/boots.. If you want quality sound its best to play originals... Weve all had it, at the back of the room and it sounds like pants... a Dj's job is to keep the dancers and everyone else happy, that is what they are there for and part of that is sound quality... No point talcing the floor and then hearing a terrible blurry sound coming out of the speakers..... even if your not dancing you don't want that... or if you don't care if its played on vinyl, CD, flexi disc whatever.. you just want to be able to hear quality sound in the venue... I know some of this is down to cheap systems but not all of it......

best bit about djing is when people come up and say have you got this record and start singing it... but don't know the words, i always get mates to come over and see if they know it...(yeah right... just like to see how long I can get them singing as it always makes me laugh) (sorry)

There are 2 covers on her album, trying to think what they are... is one "some kinda wonderful" can't think of the other one... anyway both wasn't very good (imho)

because of the average age of soulies in about 10/20 years it may be the dress code for the oldies room !!!! no more Saturday nights it will be Sundays 5pm till 7.30pm with dressing gowns and slippers, already for when we get back to the nursing homes..

How I understood it was the original and the disco demand one are the same but the 73 Calla one was differnt.. label looks the same but has 1973 at the bottom.. Maybe wrong Shall I sit in the corner?
