  1. Anyone heard anything about this film.. Talk to me about a black DJ in the 60's playing soul More of a story that that but here the link.. already out now https://www.futuremovies.co.uk/review.asp?ID=740
  2. Pete S already does this in away with hes podcasts... so is he is one step ahead already...
  3. I think this is an excellant idea best one of the thread.. if any one would like to give me any records at all I'd be more than happy. have a look at the attached picture, imagine turning up at a local do with your playlist allready in your i pod stick it in 1 hour later next dj does the same...
  4. I don't want to be above anyone = pressure and then that will be the fun side gone
  5. DJ's = Disc Jockeys Laptops = Lap Jockeys - No thank you On a more serious note... if Ernie calls himself a 2nd league dj, where does that put me right down there some where, but I personally love to play original vinyl.. I don't have big money records as I have a mortgage to pay.. but I do have a box of decent tunes and every record I buy I buy to dj with.. torn labels, bit scuffed but plays fine "good to dj with" etc.. but all 100% original. When I am out I don't need to discuss the original v Boot and now MP3 format. why because I play what I feel is right for me no one else.. I know most the dancers don't care, some venues may not care but unfortunatly when I dj I do.. its my own standards no one elses, i'm not showing it off but it is my collection and i'm proud of it.. (some is shite I admit that) I always think as long as the dj playing his or her set is happy with what format they are playing it on then that is up to them.. but I do feel when some one who is playing boots (now mp3's) and they try to justify it to me they are not doing it because I care, they are trying to explain it to thier self.. Saying this I do think there should be CD players at venues if a track has come out on CD and not on vinyl.. not that I carry them but dj's should get the choice, just so the music moves on...
  6. Great record I spun this down at the last Exeter.. and the dancers loved it..

  13. At work this year we are supporting Great Ormond St Hospital.. They have asked us to buy an extra present when we are out christmas shopping for the kids there... why not contact a local kids hospital, home and ask if you can donate presents to the kids from the Soul Club.. wrap them up in blue or red paper and put an age on the tags. then they go to where you want them to go.. I know they need to spend money on the buildings and equipment.. but its christmas who wants to be in hospital over christmas... just a thought
