  2. Thanks for posting that up Chalky... all ordered that should keep the misses off me back!!! you should contact them see if that give you a bit of discount for marketing...
  3. Contact Pete S... he always seems to have clips from over the years.. worth a try..
  4. Spacehopper maybe we should start a new thread.. but I feel this has grown out of the thread so should be ok.. A few few years ago (sounds like a start to star wars... in a galaxy blah blah blah) a friend of mine was the first dj to play-push Nolan Porter (Only be sure) at scooter do's and rally's. it used to kill the floor.. the scooter crowd thought it was rare.. and never danced to it... now how many times do you get asked for it? yes there are the combats and boots brigade out there but every record they like and dance to they had to hear for the first time once!!! its not educating them its helping them to enjoy there evening so it won't get boring...
  5. blimey whos broken a leg?
  6. Obviously but did you not notice that before you spoke to him
  7. Chalky.. When i done the Cd I gave out.. I found it quite hard to express so many differnt sounds in 25 songs.. if you put a real mix on .. the person hearing it for the first time would not really get a taste of the music as it would change to much.. and then you would have to explain it to them.. where as I thought give them a taster first.. then the next CD I give them would be more open minded with a couple of new releases even.. so then they would understand how it all fits in.. by the way the person who I gave the Cd to yesterday as asked if I have any more.. and asked where there are clubs she could go to!!! my job is done..
  8. I did and yes I cried on the bridge bit I'm at one with my girly side... Cd I gave out cover attached
  9. I gave someone at work a CD yesterday... they told me they are in to music.. got an email from them today about the CD.. Paul! The CD is great! Jeez, the lyrics are so simple but really honest and raw - and even when they're tragic they're toe tapping. It's amazing! Plain words that really get to the core of an emotion or situation is such a skill... And then there's awesome musicianship on top of it - bloody hell! Thank you! Made me feel quite good about the love we have of our music...
  10. Are you at Camber next week? Take care Mischief
  11. why whats the differnce, soul do or scooter do.. most of my friends are scooterist and soulies and attend both types of do, and they should be treated with the same respect where ever they go.. if I dj for them say at Exeter Soul club I play Originals when they come to the IOW I play originals.. just because they are going on a rally they don't loose thier knowledge and I don't lose my respect for the music either... if I ain't got it on an original I won't play it.. I also think this is why scooter do's can get stuck in a time warp, dj's should give them some thing new.. like the northern scene..
  12. sweet caroline... every bloody day i must sing that or hum it... bet your doing it now
  13. Funny now your giving it all that with your UK demo when you have already said an MP3 is the same
  14. I paid £30 for sidney Joe on here last week
  15. what kids you all run from a load of little kids
  16. i think some dj's are frieghtend
  17. Ian... well at least you could run quicker than the dj chasing you with a box of 200 45's in one hand, and a bag of 50 12"'s and Lp's over his shoulder
  18. Funny Soul Source.. we have a thread going on about should it be original vinyl only and then we have a thread asking is there to many dj's.. If it was more exceptable to play any format at Northern do's... we would have even more dj's I think the original only unwritten rule, is more of a sign of respect... for example in the past i've been on the same night as Ginger Taylor.. and because I play originals only I can just play my set.. if i play some thing he has, hard cheese.. but if I played a choon he had, and i played it off a CD then that is disrespectful... to him as a collector or DJ...thats how I see it... so play the tune in its original format, whatever that is.. only because its polite to the other dj's.. its what its all about.. its why pub dj's can't play northern properly... it adds that little bit of specialnees to our scene... only my view.... and at the end of the day I can't give a funk about what other people do.. as long as i'm happy and so are the dancers when I do my spot...
  19. Chalky sorry you may have misunderstood me... i'm up for playing cheapies.. I think the best feeling in the world is when you buy a record on Ebay that you have never heard costs you less than say 20quid... and goes straight into your playbox.. and when you play it you think funk me thats good... I don't think any one in ther right mind would rather pay a grand for a good quality dancer, than pay 20 quid for a record of equal quality.. and don't care what anyone says there are records of quality that are cheap.. just got to look.. I imagine even on here SS if people look at the back of thier collection before it went all snobby.. there be a couple of surprises sitting there with a little bit of dust on
  20. Yeh that bloke Bearsy, he would!!!
  21. Excellant ... Ian by your pointing system that makes me about a Y soul dj now, where before your system I would say I was at least an R Soul dj (nght all)
  22. 450 dj's doing an hour set each.. so thats 450 hours average 24 records an hour thats 10800 records... at an average of £60 a record say. £648,000. in vinyl now thats worth thinking about...
  23. $3200. now reserve met
