    i started this thread to gauge what people thoughts were about wigan,the scene back then and why no other venue has ever hit the hights that wigan did. as i was to young to go and would of love to of gone myself, it was not to knock the casino or the people that went.

    had some top nights at keele the purple light shining on the mirror ball was a bit mad though, always a good atmosphere and music was always spot on and a good record bar got alot of good tunes there. remember my mate jonesy slipping on the stairs and landing in a hep at the bottom was f.a.f but he didnt think so

    spent a day with him when he did an allnighter at the carleton in morecambe and what a true gent and as others have said his performance was one of the best ive seen, a true soul singer the vocal range same as the records his albums are all of a high standard hard to say which one is best depends on your point of view

    listening to an old tape and a tune that i couldnt name but the words were" i dont do this to every girl that i meet but its just that your so sweet that i cant help myself". 70ts crossover type tune any help with the artist and label would be a great help. if anybody knows what it is and has an mp3 of this tune it would make my week thanks
