Cheers MrC for the compliment , i've never had a problem as yet but there are some tunes on org albums that I haven't played due to not wanting any backlash from some anorak, e.g: t.s.u. Toranados - a thousand wonders - ovide, pus a few more that that I can't remember at the moment. If I know a certain dj who is on after me and has a 45 of a track I was gonna play from one of my albums i wouldn't spin it, e.g: see above....... it's called respect. Willie

We should be looking at trying to encouraging the little known dj's (there's loads out there) and use their passion, energy, enthusiasm, spark whatever you want to call it to mix with the already established all-nighter dj's, let them share their professionalism and knowledge for the benefit of both themselves and on the whole...... the nighter scene, put them on at decent times when there is sufficient numbers in the venue for people to form an opinion and maybe they would get a referral to other venues/promoters To keep the nighter scene going we can't live in the past, certainly do remember it and cherish it but we've got to try and move on for the sake of something we don't want to lose, otherwise guys........... (no disrespect to anyone/promoter.... just my honest opinion) Willie.

Just noticed this, great thread 123- Motown by the way..... I only collect albums (don't own a 45) and dj occasionally, I can't understand why people complain about carrying a few Lp's and some of them even go out and get a Lp track carved on 45 so they can play it out...... why!! , get a lightweight laptop satchel and sling it over your shoulder.... easy. I only say to people that I play 'album track only, cover versions & underplayed tunes', because I don't know enough about 45's and in the past few years what was an album only track has been discovered on Ep's and French/German issue 45's, some tracks i'll play because I want to hear them out and always play what I like and think is suitable to that venue.. Some album tracks are slightly different than the 45 and are better imho. Willie West...... sometimes called 12" Willie :lol: .
