  1. Eeem you got one of these for a fiver Toad nice one When I split from Brian and we negotiated who was having which records a few years back he charged me 50 bloody quid for this , mind you I would pay that today for such a great sound. I too picked up the Lp quite some time back and found every track a gem , no one has mention girls in the city yet ?
  2. Totally agree my current fave is "You got the power" which is cheap as chips and sounds awesome followed by my sweet baby which is sheer class !
  3. Lol love the humour PML
  4. Wow Paul , bit of a stunner with the ladies I bet . It's funny you should do this becuase I was only thinking about this the other day . It would be nice to see pictures of soulsourcerers of when they were younger lol unfortunately we are all getting old and beauty fades on the outside but thankfully the inner being shines on the internet. I shall climb out of the poppy field and have a drink with you ..... any more ? , be nice to see them , maybe we should have a young guns avatar day Moi at 25 , gerra load of those shoulder pads
  5. I think Johnny Copelands is the best version of this , pity it was never released.
  6. I think it's a mistake to try and compare anyone to JB , I mean her voice is exceptional , very much like queen of soul Aretha , you just don't go there , no comparison . Why not just admire Bev in her own right as a good soul singer. There are lots of them that have come out of the Uk perhaps because some have had chart success we don't give them the credit they deserve ? For example my list of talented soul singers would include Sade , Lulu , Lisa Stansfield , Mica Paris , and I still think there is more to come from Amy Winehouse , also Corrine Bailey Rae who I believe writes her own material if you listen to "Butterfly" you realise just how talented this young woman is . I admire our UK ladies because they at least try to have a unique style and break the mould of oooooooooos aaaaaaahs and songs that have one punch line and not any real value to the lyrics in a song, which for me is just as important as the tune itself , to make it soulful. Goodness me Carmen .... and all before breakfast how opinionated you sound I would love to get all the girls together and create one UK black & white "Brit girls got soul "album
  7. I just typed in Beverley Knight later with Jules Holland and got" Beautiful night" and also got "in your shoes "what comes home to me is what a great performer she is and how much I love her hair style I think the image restyle department have done wonders for her.

Notice how I had to pin her down to get this shot !
  9. Now thats a good example of greed , thanks Ernie Nev my general remark wasn't aimed at you , now if you sold Brenda for 600.00 I would say you were greedy We have to face the fact that there is an element of greed in all business , that's life you will always get your fagin types , thats just my opinion by the way. Another example , find a great record in multiple copies drip feed one or two , get a big name to play it create demand hey presto you can sell the rest at a much higher price . My point is if you double your investment is that reasonable if you treble your investment is that still reasonable ? at what point do you say eeeem thats greedy ?

  11. She got my attention on the Jules Holland show not so long back. I think she is great performer and also get the impression that she likes to be different , her style was pretty unique in my opinion soulful but funky rocky if my memory serves me well. It did spark my interest because the tracks she sang were very different from the norm Beyonce type crooners associated with soul & rb today. Sorry worbelling divas do nothing for me. I would like to know if anyone has bought her current album , is it any good ?
  12. Wrong comment from left to right on the floor are Andy Falkner , Nige Shaw ( with mullit ) , Colin Kidson , Brian , Me and Alison , this was at th eVolks KTF dayer in 2002
