I have come to the conclusion that I really have to have ownership of this record very quickly because it is starting to affect my sanity. The kind thing to do would be for some kind soul to treat me as a charitable cause... because Brenda is driving me crazy. The last time I felt like this was when i was trying to sniff out the Grey Imprint. Some alternative lyrics I was playing in this big Hall If I could play her to them all This crowd could belong to me If only she were here with me Oh but but could I sink so low , sink so low, sink so low ......... to change the record flow? Yeah yeah yeah Seems I made a big mistake, on our current play Couln't stand the twangs of those guitars So I pleased you baby And I dubbed them away If I knew then what I know now baby We would have had the "PERFECT" plaaaaay !

Thanks Malc I am glad to see she got some recognition for the work she put in.

Just thumbed through my old Cd box and came across a home made copy of the album that I got before its release , don't think was ever released ? Ok it is a more contempory sound rather than the norm we are used to , but you have to say its a great selection of easy listerners. I am puzzled...What was the story behind this album ? Anyone know more on the subject ?
-
That is very very very clever . You do realize everyone will be watching out for those twangs now lol, seriously Mark I do hope you get one soon. Carms

Oh yes I see the twangys are there . I think I must have been having a moment last saturday ... Interesting though that Steve can cut the twangs lol . .... slap....how could I doubt your twangy bits ..... really carmen I suppose the twangs I am used to hearing could be a lot louder because i am playing the sound in ITUNES and its most prob a soudfile cut off a CD ... big file like ..so when you played it off the actual record it wasn't noticible.... Joey x

eeem I will have to investigate further:huh: I saw the record Steve and it looked Kosher.... maybe its me ...
-
:ph34r:oooooy ! get your hands off I have been badgering Steve for this for months mine mine mine ...

Don't we all Mark Now was I hearing things but is there two cuts of this sound? or did I just dream the guitar twangy bit sort of vanished on the DJ copy ? ....maybe because I was dancing to it and overcome with ecstacy that it just didn't matter . I was only dicussing this with a friend last week who said she loved the sound but the twang disturbed her ... not me I love it to bits with twang or without twang. Be good to know though... i will report later when I have an MP3 of the one I heard saturday and do a compare....

I think you are quite cute when you get arsy spot shall I tell you why I like Whitby in particular and this isn't comparison to Brid... I only did Brid once so i can't comment and it was at another venue I think ? I like the quaintness of Whitby , I love it's little shops and I adore GREENS the restaurant and the fish and chips at the Kazbar aswell.... lets not get into the scampi eh then there is that lovely street with the most amazing under wear gifts for your loved ones and little antique shops and tea shops , all very tasteful. The venue... see its not just about soul for me ? An amazing venue that makes you feel like you are on a giagantic ship as you float along its dancefloor looking out of a giant port hole to sea ( I do hope the covers are off this year ) lets see the white of your eyes ! I do find the nights a bit crowded for my taste too much of a buzz of excited people for me , it's the afternoon sessions I love at Whitby What I hate ... the hill ! I darn't try the 159 steps

Now I am going ot stop reading this thread cause it's getting boring and I have other things to do .. like recover from a fantastic weekend

You know I think it would be a good move/ idea to start a FRESH thread for Reviews only of Soulboy Film by people that have seen it , now that all that the leaches have had a full stomach of the blood letting this pre -event disgusion has had. For the future I would love to see a film made based on today with flashbacks of the past myself . There are some very interesting grown ups out there with a great storty to tell in retrospect. I think a love of the past suddenly meeting with that person again in Y2k after many years trying to juggle finances and family commitments with todays bounty of souling and the heartache of soul widows/ husbands could be a really good serious film project Shall we write a screen play you could use BLOGS , blogs are easy to manage and edit/add to ... Here's your chance to put the record straight ... todays screen play would look like this ? and ideas anybody ? I recall on KTF many years ago we ran a story called Northern Nights ? or Northern Lights ? God it was so funny we all added characters and our own paragraphs to the story I think Dave Olley masterminded it ... it was brilliant.

Only just heard this for the first time today , sounds like a belter of a record , yet I can't find any reference to it when I search ? Can anyone throw any light on this sound please...... I just love the piano tinkering in the intro I am starting to wonder if the artist may be wrong ? hard to beleive I can't find any reference to it on the net ? thanks in advance Carms

hi If I were you I would just stand back from all this , and let the film do the talking . I really can't understand why some are getting their knickers in a twist about some of the things mentioned on this post .It is all quite irrelevant comment really IMHO as nobody has seen the film yet Either way you won't please all of the people all of the time , but please keep it real ..this is a few people sharing an opinion ( which they are within their rights to do ) some more strongly than others ..... it is not the whole CROWD that supports soul music week in week out whome probably 70% of don't even venture into cyberspace. Am I bothered about the politics of who did what and where ... am I hellerslike I would just like to see a nice movie that incorporates some things that I can relate to. I do hope there is some romance in it i doubt there will be much sex PML

Dead simple Bob ... it's all in the accounts , Overheads could be greater for one than the other thus resulting in higher admittance fee to recover costs to achieve profit... simpleeeeeeees I don't believe any promotor putting on a massive event would operate a price structure to only break even but I stand corrected if anyone is prepared to show us their balance sheet You pays your money and make your choice , I myself think both are excellent value for money you get a full weekends entertainment now how many hours is that ...eeem calc at the ready divide £30.00 by the hours ...thats 4 hours afternoon x2 = 8 andd 6 hours at night x 2 = 12 a total of 20 hours for 30 quid ?eeeeeem thats pretty cheap .... go to bed carmen !

Well I have just watched the trailer and I think it looks like a great piece of entertainment. I guess I am fortunate enough in that I don't carry any baggage from that time having never gone to Wigan, nor do i care how factualy acturate this film is or who was involved in an advisory capacity it just looks a like great way to spent an hour of my time. And I would guess most people that arn't dedicated soul fans will see it that way. I think it will definately spark off interest. I love the way it has been shot , I have watched on a dongal connection tonight so the images slow down , which has sort of helped in me taking it all in ( love the bit where the guy spins and you see talc dust ) the dancers I think are great ! and they are so young it's briliant to watch the energy in this film. I really look forward to seeing it and sharing a tub of ice cream whilst watching browny fill up. So when do we see it in Manchester ?
